I trailed behind Arthur as we entered the auction house’s backstage
area.

The place was eerily quiet, lit only by a few flickering lights.
When I pushed the door open, two guards dressed in black immediately stopped us. “Sorry, Miss, you can’t go this way.”
“Step aside! This is urgent!” I shouted and tried to push past them.
After struggling for a bit, I ended up soaked from the rain, my hair a mess, but I didn’t stop. I forced my way inside.
Meanwhile, inside the room, the situation grew increasingly dire.
Sienna stared at Thomas, who looked lost and confused. She grinned proudly. “Finally, I have you…”
She brushed his face with her hand and whispered, “Victoria already has someone else. She only got close to you to mess with the three great families.”
Thomas’s eyes looked foggy. “So that’s what she was doing. I truly misjudged her…”
Just as Sienna tried to gain more control over him, Thomas grabbed her arm and asked coldly, “Done with your little show?”

Cornered, Sienna pulled a small knife from her clothes. “If that’s how it’s going to be, then we’ll die together!”
At that moment, pounding sounds echoed from outside the door. I fought to get inside.
Hearing the sound, Sienna’s face twisted in madness. “It’s her, isn’t it? Perfect. Let’s finish this together!”
Thomas was moving sluggishly, clearly affected by the drug, and the situation was getting more dangerous by the second.
I discovered a side entrance, forced my way in, and that’s when I saw what was happening.
“Stop!” I yelled, charging straight at Sienna, who was wielding a knife.
In the middle of the chaos, my arm was cut, and blood started dripping from my hand.
Seeing this, Thomas seemed to snap out of it. He pushed himself up and tackled Sienna to the ground.
“Let me go!” she screamed, thrashing around. “You can’t fight destiny. He said it himself. You two were destined for tragedy!”
I stared at her, stunned. “Who are you? Why are you doing all this?”
Sienna smiled strangely. “Because in your past life, you stole everything that was meant to be mine!”
Her words made no sense and only added to my confusion.

Before she was taken away, Sienna leaned in and murmured something chilling in my ear, “It’s just the cycle of rebirth. You’ll make the same mistakes again…”
Thomas came over to me, his face pale with exhaustion. “I never fully trusted those photos, but still…”
“Then why did things have to go this far?” I asked in a faint voice, cutting him off.
He looked pained as he answered, “Because there’s a bigger mystery behind all this. I must uncover the truth.”
I rejected his reasoning, wrapped the injury myself, and got ready to
leave.
“Wait, let me at least take you to the hospital,” he said, stopping me.
I replied coldly, “No need. We have nothing to do with each other anymore.”
But before I could leave, the heavy wind and rain kept me there.
The medical team hurried to treat the wound, while Thomas stayed close by, not leaving my side.
“The photo was edited, but the goal wasn’t just to separate us,” he finally admitted.
I closed my eyes wearily. “Was it all worth it? We lost trust and so much more…”
“I only wanted to keep you safe from further pain,” he said, lowering
his head in shame.

It was late at night. The rain outside had slowly stopped, and the police brought news. Sienna had mysteriously lost her memory during questioning and avoided revealing important details.

“What organization?” Thomas and I asked together.
