“Where are you going?” Kevin asked.
“Bathroom break.”
く
I’d probably be mocked when I got back.
It was my ex–husband’s fault.
12
I was in the bathroom for half an hour and
walked out with numb feet.
David leaned against the wall. “Where do you live?”
I rolled my eyes. “It’s none of your business.”
He chuckled. “Don’t flatter yourself. I’ll have someone send your things.”
He paused and said, “Monica doesn’t want to see your things.”
L
I was speechless.
I hid my anger.
I quickly calmed down. “Throw them away.
They don’t have my name on them.”
I shook my hands.
His face darkened.
I was happy.
I wasn’t a naive person who didn’t care about
money.
David had built his company with his family’s help.
I was behind him
I took the pressure and insults from the
Harrisons.
My freedom was a luxury.
I went back to my desk and Kevin slammed
his hand on the desk.
“Sarah, you ran to the bathroom? Where’s
your discipline?”
I looked at him.
“What law says I can’t go to the bathroom?
“Why are you acting like this because the boss is here?
“Don’t send me messages to ask me to dinner
or movies.”
He was red–faced and pointed at me.
“Sarah! I never sent…”
He stopped and looked away.
I sneered. “Should I send the chat logs to the group?”
His face paled. I grabbed my water cup and knocked him aside.
“Move.”
David was standing in the shadows.
13
That night, I bought some BBQ on the street
<
I saw David leaning against the car.
I covered my mouth.
David frowned and wiped my mouth;
I was stunned for a few seconds.
I stepped back.
He looked dark.
I looked up at the windows.
“The company asked for addresses…”
I rolled my eyes. “You’re boring.”
He chuckled. “I’ll find another way.”
<
His face darkened. “Why didn’t you tell me
about Kevin?”
“You’re living under my nose…”
I interrupted him. “Soon it won’t be.”
He was speechless and grabbed me.
“That’s enough. Come back with me.”
I glared at him.
“I’m not messing around.”
He was impatient. “Okay.”
“I explained about Ashley. I’ll let her go.”
く
I pried his fingers off.
I stepped back.
“Ashley and Monica don’t matter.
“I’m tired of being Mrs. Harrison.”
His face was pale.
“You… my parents won’t agree.”
I hesitated and bit my lip.
“Don’t you want to split half the property?”
14
He glared at me.
L
“You’ll get your share. I don’t think it’s
necessary.”
I waved my hand.
“If you agree, we’ll follow the process.”
I walked.
David called my name.
“What are you dissatisfied with?”
I stopped and looked back.
“I’m dissatisfied with everything.”
He turned dark and pointed.
He sat in the car
He sat in the car.
I rolled my eyes.
