Chapter 16 The Secret
Ladonna covered the blanket on her head and frowned. She couldn’t fall asleep the whole night because of Cedric’s words.
Of course, Cedric didn’t go to sleep directly.
Now, Ladonna and Izabella were safe, but it didn’t mean he had forgotten the man who abducted them.
In the basement, the masked man was tied up to the chair, who was injured all over. His clothes had been soaked in blood.
Hearing the door opening sound, the man shivered. “Please! Please let me go!”
The masked man’s begging didn’t earn Cedric’s sympathy. Cedric grabbed a handful of salt and sprinkled it on the man’s injuries indifferently.
“Since you’re already in my hands, you should know the consequences. But now I can give you a chance.
“Tell me, who sent you to abduct Ladonna?”
Faced with Cedric’s oppression, the masked man gritted his teeth and still kept silent.
Cedric suddenly ripped the black cloth off his face. The man had been masked with a black cloth. After he was brought here, Cedric’s subordinates only taught him a lesson under orders.
No one dared to take off the black cloth. At this point, Cedric would do that himself.

The moment the black cloth was removed, the man subconsciously closed his eyes and tilted his head to avoid being seen by Cedric.
But it was useless.
A glint of astonishment flashed across Cedric’s eyes. He scrutinized the man and then threw away the black cloth.
“Reese Shaw! It’s you!” Cedric snapped angrily.
He never expected that it would be his grandpa’s housekeeper.
“Mr. Ferguson, it was my idea. It has nothing to do with your grandpa. Don’t get it wrong.” At this point, Reese had to insist that he was the ringleader, trying to dispel Cedric’s doubt.
But who was Cedric? If he fell for one’s words so easily, he wouldn’t be the head of the Ferguson family for years!
He didn’t believe a word said by Reese at all. While he remained silent, he was thinking about the relationship between Randall and Ladonna.
“Supposedly, Grandpa can’t know Ladonna. Even if he knew about her, he didn’t have to kill her anyway. So, there must be some reason…” he thought.
“Reese, what is Grandpa hiding from me?” He asked the question, but his tone was certain.
“Don’t suspect your grandpa. This has nothing to do with him. I…” Reese was about to talk further, but Cedric didn’t give him a chance.
Cedric knew that Reese wouldn’t provide any useful information.
It seemed that he had to find out the truth himself.
After leaving the basement, Cedric had Reese released, and meanwhile,

he started to investigate the relationship between Randall and Ladonna.
He knew that Reese would definitely go to Randall after regaining freedom. Then, Randall would know Ladonna was in Cedric’s place.
If there was any secret between Randall and Ladonna, he’d surely find another chance to get rid of her.
Cedric lit up a cigarette and looked at the moonlight. Ladonna’s image appeared in his mind.
Admittedly, she had an eccentric temperament, but was fascinating in
some way.
There were mixed feelings in his eyes. In the end, Cedric stubbed out the cigarette and opened the door of Ladonna’s room.
Ladonna felt a rough grip seize her wrist. Then suddenly, she was falling backward, colliding with a man’s solid chest.
With a frown, she was about to resist him when she heard Cedric’s voice.
“Quiet. Let’s sleep.”
