Chapter 27 I’ll Let You Go Today
Watching Cedric’s actions, Ladonna finally felt relieved.
She let out a sigh, then smiled at Cedric and waved her hand. “Well, I’ll let you get back to work. Have a good night. Bye!”
After saying that, she turned to leave, but as soon as she took a step, she felt a sharp pain in her ankle.
The pain caused Ladonna to stumble and fall to the ground.
Seeing this, Cedric quickly reached out, grabbed her hand, and pulled her close to him.
Ladonna suddenly fell into a warm embrace, and she didn’t feel the pain she expected.
When she opened her eyes again, she was already in Cedric’s arms.
“Oh, I should be more careful. You can get back. I’ll take a rest and it will be fine.”
As Ladonna spoke, she tried to wriggle out of Cedric’s hold. She sensed danger in his eyes.
“When did you get hurt? Why didn’t you tell me? Are you an idiot?”
Cedric ignored what Ladonna just said, focusing entirely on her swollen ankle.
Ladonna’s skin was very delicate, and even a small bruise on her body looked scary.
She jumped from the second floor and twisted her ankle without any

“I’m really fine. Don’t worry. Let me go back to my room and get some rest. It’ll be okay.”
Although she didn’t know why Cedric was angry again, Ladonna still forced a smile and tried to leave.
It wasn’t easy to appease Cedric, and she couldn’t afford to make him angry again!

However, Cedric just frowned, showing no intention of letting Ladonna
- go.
He carried her towards his room and told the maid, “Call the doctor.”
The maid didn’t dare to waste time and left immediately.
“There is no need to call the doctor. It’s very late. I’ll apply a hot compress and it’ll be fine! Cedric!”
“Shut up, Ladonna! You know I’m hungry, and I don’t have much patience now, so don’t test it!” His warning tone finally made Ladonna silent.
She could only follow Cedric’s words.
After all, he was the heir to the Ferguson family, and no one dared to defy him.
Ladonna kept reassuring herself, then was gently placed on the bed.
The doctor arrived quickly, examined Ladonna’s ankle, and applied some
medicine to it.
Cedric stood there with a stern expression, frowning.
Ladonna tried to look at Cedric a few times, but each time she was scared by his cold stare.

“How’s her ankle?” Cedric asked as the doctor stood up.
“It’s not serious. She just twisted it. The medicine has been applied, but it will need a few days to heal,” the doctor replied, then packed his things. He told Cedric he would come back to check on Ladonna later.
Cedric didn’t ask further, just glanced at the maid, then the maid walked the doctor out.
“Look, I said it’s nothing serious, right? No need to worry about it!”
Sensing the tension in the room, Ladonna tried to explain to Cedric with an awkward smile.
But Cedric suddenly leaned in, forcing Ladonna to look into his eyes.
His stern look caught Ladonna off guard.
“Ladonna, don’t make me say it again. You must be more careful.”
“I know, I know, don’t be mad.”
Perhaps it was Ladonna’s rare obedience that really calmed Cedric down.
He slowly leaned down and gave a gentle kiss on Ladonna’s lips.
His hand slowly moved upward, but just as Ladonna realized what was going to happen, Cedric suddenly stopped.
He looked at Ladonna’s swollen lips and finally showed a smile.
“You’re hurt, so I’ll let you go today.”
