“I had a car accident six years ago…”
Feeling the hardness of Cedric’s private part, Ladonna turned red all over- She didn’t even hear what he said next.
“Ladonna, with me around, you and Izabella won’t be in danger again.”
“I…” Ladonna’s mind was a mess.
Cedric knew he couldn’t press her too much. He opened the car door for her and escorted her to her apartment.
“Ladonna, give me your answer in three days. I hope you won’t disappoint
me.”
Afterward, he gathered Corbin in his arms and left.
Another sleepless night. Despite the fatigue, Ladonna couldn’t sleep.
When Cedric asked her to be with him, it must be a fling that he was looking for.
She was from an ordinary family. The Ferguson family would never accept her.
To drive the thought out of her mind, Ladonna cleaned the house all night. She only took a nap when the day was about to break.
At lunchtime, she received a call from an unknown number. The caller wanted to meet her at a coffee shop.

coffee when a silver–haired, energetic–looking elderly man sat opposite
her.
The old man wore a wide pair of sunglasses. Half of his face was covered. Even so, Ladonna felt he looked familiar.
“Excuse me. Have we met before?”
Instead of replying, the old man slammed an envelope on the table.
Tens of photos came out.
Ladonna looked at them. Instantly, she felt as if a monster had clutched her heart. She couldn’t breathe, and her face turned pale.
“You’re a Ferguson?”
Those were intimate photos of her and Cedric.
“How much do I have to pay you to make you leave Cedric?” Randall asked bluntly.
It was Corbin’s birthday the day before. But because of this woman, neither Corbin nor Cedric could focus on the party. They even went out to look for her by helicopter at midnight.
Randall investigated it and found out it was the same woman giving birth to Cedric’s children six years ago,
It must be fate. Otherwise, why did they meet again after so many years?
The thing was, this woman had a boyfriend six years ago. And she came from a powerless family. How could someone like her deserve his grandson, let alone to be the mother of his great–grandson?
To prevent more problems from happening, Randall had come personally to ask Ladonna to leave Cedric,

He had an innate commanding bearing. Facing him, Ladonna was timid. But she wouldn’t let him humiliate her.
“I don’t want your money. I’ll be grateful if you can ask Cedric to leave me alone.”
Unlike six years ago, she had a sharp tongue now. She hit the nail on the head, and even Randall was lost for words.
If he could stop Cedric from seeing her, he wouldn’t be here.
Luckily, Randall came with a Plan B.
“This is the result of a paternity test. I know your daughter has leukemia. I’ve located her biological father. He’s in Eldoria as a vegetable. Your two sons are six years old.”
Ladonna was shocked.
How did this man know so much about her past?
Ladonna opened the document doubtfully. The DNA test result confirmed the paternity.
She did it! She’d finally found the kids‘ father. She’d be able to see her
two sons!
Ladonna teared up with excitement.
Seeing that Ladonna had taken the bait, Randall handed her a check disdainfully.
“This is a check for 1.5 inillion dollars. I can take care of your daughter’s medical bills. But you must leave Valorbury permanently.”
“Keep your check.” Ladonna pushed the check to him nonchalantly. “I’ll leave in three days.”

She left with her purse and the paternity test result.
As soon as she got home, she began packing her things.
But she became increasingly restless.

She kept thinking of Cedric. He asked her to be with him and expected her to give him her answer in three days.
Was she doing the right thing to leave like this?
“Mommy, what’s wrong?”
Izabella’s soft, sweet voice broke Ladonna’s reverie.
Nothing was more important than Izabella’s health. If she took Izabella to Eldoria, the two boys could donate their bone marrow for Izabella’s
surgery.
Ladonna kissed Izabella on the cheek and said, “Izabella, we’re going to Eldoria. You’ll see your daddy and two brothers soon.”
“Huh?” Izabella was thrilled. She cheered. But briefly after, she looked
conflicted.
“Mommy, can Corbin’s daddy be my daddy? He’s handsome. I like him.”
Ladonna was reduced to silence.
She didn’t know Izabella liked Cedric so much.
“Sweetie, Cedric is Corbin’s daddy. He can’t be our family.”
“Oh. OK.” Izabella lowered her head, disappointed.
“Sweetie, don’t be sad. You’ll be with your brothers when we get to Eldoria. They’ll keep you company and dote on you.”

“Really? Then, I’ll go.” Izabella smiled immediately and helped Ladonna pack the luggage.
Because of Izabella, Ladonna was more determined to leave.
By midnight, the luggage was packed. Ladonna planned to set off early the next morning.
Any delay might mean trouble.
Ladonna had been caught in the rain in the afternoon. She had a cold, coughed nonstop, and felt groggy. She accidentally touched her phone, which had been put by the pillow, and dialed a number.
“I feel terrible. Koff, koff…”
Hearing her feeble voice, Cedric got dressed and headed to her place immediately.
Corbin had given him the password. So, he went in without trouble.
The living room was pitch black. The only light in the apartment came from the lamp in Ladonna’s bedroom.
Cedric opened the door and saw Ladonna lying on the bed. She was barely conscious from a fever.
With a frown, he went up, held her in his arms, and patted her cheek.
“Ladonna, are you OK?”
His hands were cold, which eased the fever. Ladonna couldn’t help moving closer to him.
At this sight, Cedric’s eyes darkened.

she’d taken medication. So, he got her a glass of warm water.
When the water moisturized her parched throat, Ladonna sighed with satisfaction.
She opened her eyes slightly and was taken aback to see who the man was. Her head even cleared up a little.
“Cedric? What are you doing here?”
“You called me. You didn’t sound well on the phone…”
His tone was calm, displaying no sign of disgust or annoyance.
Ladonna felt both warm and sad.
It had been a long time since the last time someone had been concerned
about her.
She had thought no one would care about her again.
However, this was the last time she could have Cedric’s concern.
Ladonna turned off the lamp.
In the dark, she could hear her rapid heartbeat and Cedric’s calm breathing.
With a trembling hand, she grabbed his belt..
Then, she closed her eyes and offered herself to him like a gallant soldier.
“Cedric, let’s sleep together. Haven’t you always wanted me?”
