Cheap Kinship 11

Cheap Kinship 11

11

Parents should be two nurturing trees, raising

their children like new branches

But in our family, Dad was absent

He thought that as long as money was there

he didn’t need to worry about anything

Mom ignored me, spoiling Lily, compensating

for the security she should have received

from Dad

Lily, seemingly wellnourished, lacked

resilience

She was spoiled and entitled, taking

everything for granted, wanting Mom’s sole

attention

She even used her weak health to get

attention

I withered in the lack of nourishment

becoming hollow and dry

My only desire was for Mom and Dad to love

me a little

This desire made me neither ask nor rebel

making me swallow the hated pig liver

In the end, we all became misshapen

But now, I don’t want to rely on their meager

nourishment, I don’t want to be a hollow

branch

I want to be my own tree
