Chapter 12
Third Person POV
Alpha Roland was in a foul mood that day. When he learned the reason why Brianna -why Nadia had left him, his rage flared. It wasn’t surprising; Roland was always too arrogant to tolerate rejection.
He turned away from Brianna’s hospital room, crushed the cigarette in his hand, and walked out with firm steps. The fluorescent lights in the corridor illuminated his face, making his cold expression all the more striking.
His new Beta, Leona, cautiously approached him, clearly intimidated by his anger. “Alpha Roland, we’ve tracked Nadia to Amavorn Pack, but that’s as far as we’ve gotten. It

looks like someone is deliberately hindering our investigation.”
“Amavorn Pack?” Roland’s eyes narrowed slightly, as if a thought crossed his mind. He suddenly asked, “Aren’t we supposed to be signing a contract with Amavorn Pack? When’s that contract scheduled?”
Leona checked her phone. “Three days from now, Alpha.”
“Book me a flight,” Roland ordered without hesitation. He was always decisive. When it came to those he cared about, he never hesitated, never dragged his feet–even when it came to Nadia.
But Leona seemed to have some concerns. “Alpha, Brianna’s pregnant–honestly, she’s unhappy with all of us here. And every time you’re not around, the atmosphere becomes

tense. If you leave, I’m worried things might spiral out of control.”
Roland’s expression darkened further. “As long as she’s not dead,” he replied coldly, “she’ll be fine.” His words were laced with contempt for Brianna–she was nothing more than poison in his life.
“And…” he added, his voice low and decisive, “investigate whether she’s really pregnant. This time, let’s switch hospitals.” His trust in Brianna had clearly shattered, mainly due to the suspicions Nadia had mentioned more than once.
That night, Roland returned home, heading straight to his study to find the flash drive. This time, he finally had some quiet and time to go through what Nadia had left behind. But when he inserted the drive, he froze–the folder was empty. The two files that had

been there before were completely gone.
He tried every method he could think of to recover them, but it was all in vain. Frustration overwhelmed him. He called the maid, asking if anyone had touched his computer, but no one admitted to it. The study had no surveillance cameras, so it was impossible to know who was responsible.
Late that night, after everyone had gone to bed, a maid quietly left the villa and made a phone call. “Brianna, I’ve deleted the videos from the flash drive. Please send the remaining payment now.”
In her hospital bed, Brianna smiled, watching the video with a sense of victory. Just then, Pack doctor Jasper entered. “Hey, I heard Alpha Roland plans to transfer you to another hospital. He might suspect
something.”

“Doesn’t matter,” Brianna replied lazily. “They can run tests at any hospital in the Northern Pack Alliance. It won’t change the truth–I am pregnant.” She didn’t say, though, that the pup wasn’t his.
Jasper, still holding onto old feelings for Brianna, couldn’t help but remind her, “Brianna, Alpha Roland doesn’t love you anymore. Why force something that’s no longer there? If you gave me a chance, I-”
Brianna interrupted him with a mocking laugh. “Listen, I don’t love you either. It’s been years. Find something else to do with your life, you weirdo–find a she–wolf who actually cares about you and wants to live a boring, stable life with you.”
Jasper’s face froze. In that moment, he finally saw her for who she truly was. “I

understand,” he said, his voice devoid of hope. “I just hope you find happiness.”
“Lies… they don’t last forever, Brianna,” he added, and it was as if the last shred of warmth in his heart had disappeared.
Brianna’s smile turned sharp. “That’s my problem, not yours.” She raised an eyebrow and motioned toward the door. “It’s late. I
need to rest. You can leave now.”
