Chapter 14
For years, Roland had been an Alpha respected, even worshiped, by many. Yet today, under the weight of my words, I watched as his face flushed, the anger rising within him. For the first time, I felt I finally had the chance to speak up.
“Nadia, you’re going too far!” he shouted.
I had expected his mask to crack sooner or later, but I never imagined it would break so quickly. I raised an eyebrow slightly and let out a cold laugh. “Compared to what you’ve done to me, this is nothing”
It was then that I noticed the growing crowd around us. Roland lowered his head, his voice stiff as he muttered, “We’ll discuss this at home.”

He tried to use force, but before he could touch me, Marcus kicked him several meters
away.
“Bastard!” Marcus roared, his gaze sharp as a blade. “If you want to stay alive, you’d better get the hell out of the South Pack Alliance by tonight.”
“If you so much as lay a finger on Nadia again, I’ll chop your hand off.”
Before Roland could retaliate, the restaurant manager rushed over, panic written all over his face.
“I’m terribly sorry, Alpha Marcus. This was our oversight for allowing him in. We’ll get him out immediately.” The manager quickly gave orders, and the staff promptly pushed Roland out the door.

With the clown removed, the crowd began to disperse. Marcus led me back to our table, pulling out a chair for me. “He’s been kicked out. Are you upset about that?” he asked casually, though his eyes never left my face.
I smiled dismissively. “Upset? He’s not worth that.”
I chuckled. “Honestly, I thought the next time you saw him, you’d beat him half to death. Didn’t expect you to let him off with just a kick.”
Marcus raised an eyebrow, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “You think I was too lenient with him? I could have had someone drag him back in for another round.”
I set my utensils down, leaning on one hand

as I stared at him. “Marcus, has anyone ever told you that you’re incredibly jealous?”
Marcus locked eyes with me, his smile growing. “Has anyone told you that jealous men need to be fed?”
We were both adults, and I instantly understood his meaning. My ears flushed slightly. Given the emotional wounds from my past relationship, we hadn’t been physically intimate yet. Marcus, a passionate young Alpha, had been holding back, respecting my boundaries.
Suddenly, a sly smile appeared on my face as I leaned toward his ear and whispered, “Tonight, I’ll make sure you’re well–fed.”
For years, Marcus had feared Roland would show up again, that I might waver or look back. But today, not only had Roland

appeared, he had only brought us closer.
Meanwhile, after being thrown out of the restaurant, Roland and his companion Mason returned to their hotel in the South Pack Alliance. Since being kicked out, Roland hadn’t said a word. Mason stood nearby, nervous and hesitant.
“A… Alpha, it looks like Beta Nadia really has changed. Maybe…” Before he could finish his sentence, Roland shot him a cold glare that silenced him instantly.
“Marcus seems to be planning a union with the new leader of the Amavorn Pack, doesn’t he?” Roland said, his tone venomous. “If he wants to steal my mate, he’d better be prepared to pay the price.”
“Contact the Amavorn Pack,” he ordered, his jaw clenched tightly. “Tell them I’ll personally

be there this afternoon to sign the contract. I have something to say to their new Alpha.”
He thought confidently that once the Amavorn Pack Alpha took action, Marcus, that bastard, would back off and stop pursuing Nadia.
Roland’s mind raced with the notion that he’d finally be able to win me back. He would have enough time to explain everything.
He reassured himself, She’s loved me for so many years. If I truly repent… If I apologize sincerely… she’ll forgive me.
But lost in his own delusion, he failed to recognize an almost impossible fact–my wolf had already chosen someone else.
With a heavy sigh, Mason turned to contact the Beta of the Amavorn Pack.

In my office, my beta reported, “Alpha, the Alpha of the Rhoskar Pack will arrive at 3 PM today. He specifically requested to sign the contract in person and said he has something to discuss with you.”
I furrowed my brows. Normally, these kinds of contracts were handled by the relevant departments. Plus, I had a number of meetings scheduled for the afternoon.
I was about to refuse when a thought crossed my mind. “You said the Alpha of the Rhoskar Pack? You mean Alpha Roland?”
My beta, surprised by my knowledge of the details, quickly nodded. “Yes, Alpha.”
A cold smile crossed my lips as I raised an eyebrow. “Alright, tell the Council members that I have a scheduling conflict. Reschedule

their meeting and have Alpha Roland come
at 3 PM.”
“Understood, Alpha.”
At exactly 3 PM, I stood by the floor–to–ceiling windows, my back to the door, gazing at the Pack’s skyline. This was supposed to be the life I had. But I was young and naive, and I paid the price. I thought with sadness.
A gentle knock on the door pulled me back to reality. “Alpha, the Alpha of the Rhoskar Pack, Roland, is here.”
I smiled coldly, “Let him in.”
