Chapter 9
Brianna’s POV
Just as Roland was about to press play, I walked into the study.
“Roland, the Council members are pressuring me one after another, blaming everything on me! I’m at my breaking point -can’t you say something in my defense?” I strode over to his side, catching a glimpse of his computer screen from the corner of my
eye.
The moment I saw the thumbnail of the video, I froze in terror. I recognized that scene all too well. Those surveillance tapes -he can’t see them!
At first, Roland had only made me his Beta

temporarily because I had just returned from the Selundra Pack and hadn’t found a job yet, and Nadia was in the hospital at the time. But he never expected that, after a few months, I would stir up long–buried issues within the Pack.
Since Nadia left because of me, his patience with me had been paper–thin. This time, he didn’t speak up for me.
“The Council’s year–end bonuses have been significantly impacted because of you. Of course, they’re not happy” he said, his eyes cold as they glared at me. “Instead of standing here complaining, why don’t you focus on improving yourself?”
Without letting me say another word, he dismissed me.
“It’s getting late. Go back to your room,”

he said, his hand moving over the mouse. Then, as though remembering something, he added, “One more thing–this is my private study. Don’t come in unless I allow it. Your room is almost finished being renovated. Once it’s ready, you can move out.”
His tone was indifferent, void of emotion. Hearing him speak to me like that, I bit my lip. The moment I came back to the Rhoskar Pack, I knew he had changed–he no longer felt the same way about me. That’s why I had done all of this–to create a rift between him and his mate. Only when there was no way back between them would I have a chance to win him back.
When my gaze fell upon the mate bond severance document on the desk, my anxious eyes suddenly lit up. In desperation, I blurted out, “Roland, I’m pregnant.”

His hand jerked, and the cup of water on the desk tipped over, shattering as it hit the floor.
Nadia’s POV
Marcus and I had arrived at the Southern Pack Alliance.
But Marcus didn’t take me to his Pack; instead, he took me to my parents‘ Pack. Standing before the familiar gates, I hesitated, unable to take another step. Seven years ago, I defied my parents‘ wishes and left to attend college in the Northern Pack Alliance. Three years ago, I stubbornly went against their desires again when I married Roland. And now, this was the result.
Noticing my hesitation, Marcus gently took my hand. “There are no lasting grudges between family. Your parents were overjoyed when they heard you were coming back.

They’ve been waiting for you.”
He squeezed my hand gently, offering me soft reassurance. “Nadia, they’ve missed you all these years. It’s time to come home.”
His words brought tears to my eyes. Before I could even step through the door, it swung open, and my parents rushed out to greet me. The years had taken their toll, and their hair was now graying. My mother’s eyes were red, and she pulled me into her arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
“My precious daughter, you’ve suffered so much out there. Come home. With us, no one can hurt you anymore,” my father said, his voice firm but calm.
“Foolish girl,” he added. “You are our precious daughter. No matter what mistakes you’ve made, your mother and I will never blame

you. The Amavorn Pack will always be your safe haven. Always.”
At that moment, I couldn’t hide my pain any longer. Tears streamed down my face as I sobbed, “Mom… Dad… I’m sorry. I was wrong. I should’ve listened to you and come back. I shouldn’t have wasted those seven years.”
During my time in the Rhoskar Pack, whenever I felt wronged, I carried it alone. I had once been the little princess of Amavorn Pack–my parents never let me suffer even the slightest injustice. But ever since I chose Roland over them, I hadn’t spoken to them. For all these years, I had believed they would never forgive me. But now…
My mother wiped my tears away, looking at me seriously. “It’s okay, darling. We’re not angry, alright? We’re just so happy you’re home.”

Marcus spoke softly from behind us. “Alpha Kingston and Luna Maya, it’s cold outside. Let’s go inside and talk.”
Once inside, my mother held me tightly, speaking to me gently. Meanwhile, my father pulled Marcus aside.
“Marcus,” he said, “I know you’ve never stopped caring for my daughter. Now that she’s back, when do you plan on forming a marriage alliance between our Packs?”
