I couldn’t help laughing. “Don’t say things that will make people misunderstand. We were never together. How could I have betrayed you?”
Seth’s expression was full of disbelief. He grabbed Ryan’s collar and yelled angrily, “In the past, you tried to take my father’s money! Now you’re taking my woman? Why are you such an asshole!”
Harry’s eyes narrowed, and he slapped Seth on the cheek. “You ingrate! What nonsense are you talking about? Ryan has never tried to take anything of mine! Besides, Ryan was the one that Luna wanted to marry right from the start!”
Seth was stunned, and he could not manage to get out a single word.
Ryan looked coldly at him. “Apologize to Luna and to the Woods.”
The audience also began to point at Seth as they speculated among themselves. “Don’t you think Mr. Seth is far too arrogant?”
“Exactly! The Woods saved the Garners. How could he treat Ms. Luna like that? Isn’t he afraid that the Woods will go back on their word?”
Harry immediately turned to Dad to explain. “Lulu will be my sister–in–law from now on. I won’t let Seth be so rude!
“I have failed in disciplining him, which resulted in tonight’s events. From now on, we’ll give your family twice the amount of profits from our business!”
My father’s expression was cold as he glared daggers at Seth.
Harry immediately pressed down hard on Seth’s shoulder and forced him to kneel. “You ingrate! Hurry up and apologize to your aunt!”
At that moment, Ashley suddenly fell to her knees in front of me with a thump. She said tearfully, “What does this have to do with Seth? He only misunderstood because Luna didn’t make things clear to him!
“Seth has never been treated badly in his life! How could he kneel to a woman? I’ll apologize in his stead!”
As soon as she finished speaking, Mrs. Garner kicked her so hard that she fell on the floor.
Mrs. Garner pointed at her in fury and said, “You slut! If it weren’t for you, Luna would be my daughter–in–law right now! It’s all your fault! You’ve seduced my son and made him a fool! Get lost!”
Sprawled on the floor, Ashley gave Seth a pained look. However, she realized that he was staring at me in a daze. He did not even spare a glance at her.
She panicked and scrambled over to him. She reached out to tug at the hem of his shirt. “It’s alright, Seth. I’ll marry you! I won’t betray you like Luna did!”
Ashley was about to step forward, but Mrs. Garner kicked her again. “Starting from today, we won’t give you a single cent more! I’ll make sure the entire industry knows what kind of creature you are!”
Ashley turned pale with fright. She hastily burrowed into Seth’s arms and sniffled as she said, “I won’t leave Seth! I never will!”
However, Seth pushed her away from him. “Ashley, go and bring our family’s wedding dress back here! Luna must have chosen that cripple because she didn’t get the wedding dress!”
