Chapter 9
“Alberto, what did you say?”
“Did you want to leave me for this woman?”
I furrowed my brows subconsciously.
Just as I had just noticed that Haylie was not feeling well, I heard Alberto hesitantly speak up.
“Haylie, what’s the matter? Let’s talk about it when we get back. Right now, I have something to clarify with Emelia!”
Haylie, who has always listened to Alberto the most, was not willing this time and shouted hysterically.
“No.”
“Alberto, I heard everything you just said!”
“You couldn’t leave me, I didn’t allow you to leave me!”
Alberto instantly became angry and started roaring with his mouth wide open.
“Haylie, you have grown up now, and I have my own life. Why do you always cling to me?”
My marriage with Emelia has ended eight times because of you. When will you ever let me go?
“Your life was mine, if she didn’t marry you, I would marry you, that’s it!”
Haylie blurted out, and this sentence stunned Alberto.
He looked at Haylie with a terrified expression on his face, it was hard to imagine that she actually said that.
“Haylie, I think you have gone mad. You must be mad to say such things!”
Who would have thought, Haylie was confident.
“We grew up together since we were young, why can’t we be together?”
Alberto shook his head crazily, and in Haylie’s eyes, a growing disgust emerged.
“You know, I always had feelings for you as a sister. I couldn’t marry you, let alone be with you.”
“From today on, you left my house!”
The resolute statement made Haylie unable to accept it.
Two people were entangled and started to quarrel right there.
I stood aside, sneered twice, and was about to leave.
The unexpected in the next second left me stunned.
Haylie had already red eyes, bloodshot in her pupils, and she looked extremely strange.
“It’s impossible, I couldn’t let you leave me,
Alberto!”
He took out a small knife from his pocket and repeatedly stabbed Alberto’s chest.
The crimson blood splattered on Haylie’s face instantly,
She showed no sign of panic and continued to laugh wildly there.
“Alberto, you could only be mine.”
I was about to speak up to stop, when a pair of big hands gently covered my eyes.
“Stop looking, I had already called the police, come with me.”
Uriel held my hand and quickly left the scene.
I didn’t know much about the situation afterwards.
For a very long time, there was no news from Alberto and Haylle.
It was probably about half a year later when I presented the latest research findings from the laboratory at the conference.

I met Alberto backstage.
I was still somewhat astonished and blurted out.
“Did you actually not die?”
The next second, I felt even worse and quickly apologized.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean that.”
Alberto laughed bitterly one after another.
“I knew, but it was also my fate to have this calamity, I deserved it.”
It was him who indulged Haylie and made her become such an unruly person.
I nodded and didn’t intend to talk to him.
Alberto also saw through my thoughts, a trace of pain flashed in his eyes.
“I heard that you got married to Uriel?”
A touch of tenderness immediately appeared on my face.
He showed off the wedding ring on his finger.
“Yeah, we had just gotten married not long ago, but now I am very happy.”
No need to worry about when the next divorce will be anymore.
No need to think about the time for remarriage anymore.
Alberto’s originally pale face instantly turned as white as paper.
Where did it start again, all by itself.
He sent Haylie to prison.
Talking about our past again.
He said he regretted.
Unfortunately, in this world, there is no medicine for regret.
