Terrence stepped forward, grabbed Bethany’s phone, and said in
a calm voice, “You need to discuss going abroad with me before
making any decisions.”
Bethany looked annoyed, put her phone back on the table, and
gestured with her hand, “I said I wouldn’t negotiate with you,

“Beth,” Ms. Guzman called out to her, apologetically saying, “I
didn’t realize I was causing you so much trouble by asking you
to work. If I’m the reason your family is falling apart, I’m really
sorry.”
Forming a family is not easy. For someone like Ms. Guzman, at
her age, with a husband and a son, divorce should not be an
option unless absolutely necessary.
No wonder Bethany was always hesitant to come out and work
