Terrence saw Julio holding on tight to Bethany’s hand and
couldn’t take it anymore. He stepped up and grabbed Julio’s

Bethany shook her head gently at Julio and told him with those
wet eyes, you don’t need to worry about me anymore.
Terrence forcefully shook off Julio’s hand and dragged Bethany
away.
Julio stood there weakly, his fists clenched so tight his knuckles
turned white.
He wasn’t the one in charge of the Mendez Group now, and he
couldn’t decide the fate of the Mendez Group by himself.
But because of this, he ended up being the burden that made
Bethany leave Terrence.

Kyson walked up, patted Julio on the shoulder, and comforted
him, “Don’t be too upset. Terrence was always more capable
than others since he was a kid. When he was sixteen, he led a
team to develop solid–state batteries, and after they hit the
market, just that one tech company was worth billions. But
Bethany’s right, all he can really do is use his money to pressure
people. Bethany only went back with him because of the
Mendez Group. I think she’ll definitely come up with something
else. Don’t worry.”
Bethany was taken back to Vespera Villa by Terrence.
Terrence just threw her straight into the master bathroom’s tub,
turned on the shower, and didn’t care that the water coming out
was cold. He just let it pour down on her head.
After the Mid–Autumn Festival, the weather was still a bit
chilly.
The water was naturally colder than in summer, and the fine
streams sprayed onto Bethany. She couldn’t help but shiver.
She was pinned in the bathtub by Terrence, struggling, and
Terrence just didn’t care.
There was nothing but angry fire in his eyes, just wanting to
wash her away.

The cold water made Bethany’s whole body shake, and a lot of hair stuck to her eyes.
For quite a while, the water slowly warmed up, and her body
didn’t feel so bad anymore, just a bit warmer, but her heart still
couldn’t warm up.
Seeing that she didn’t struggle anymore, Terrence held her hand
tightly, put on some body wash, and scrubbed hard.
Crimson thin lips, hard as a knife.
The backs of Bethany’s hands were rubbed so hard by him that
they felt burning hot, then he pulled over the showerhead and
rinsed the foam off her hands.
All of a sudden, the bruised marks on her wrist showed up right
in front of him.

Terrence froze.

Bethany sat in the bathtub with no expression on her face,
those beautiful big eyes still holding some broken light.
The watering can in Terrence’s hand suddenly dropped and hit

His voice was a bit choked, like his explanations all sounded
kind of weak.
He never hit women.
There were two times when he got so mad at her that he
wanted to slap her, but when his hand was right by her cheek, he still held back and didn’t touch her.

He even hurt her.
