After speaking, Emery finally noticed that Terrence was
holding their mom, who had her eyes tightly shut, was soaked
all over, and had dirty hands. He was about to ask what was
wrong with her, but then he remembered how embarrassed she
made him at the quilting contest today, so he swallowed his
words.

sad and upset today. Krista stayed with him the
whole time, cheered him up, and kept him company from the
morning until now.
And his mom hadn’t cared about him for a long time..
The more he thought about it, the more he blamed his mom for
the hurt she caused and for not caring about him.
Terrence frowned. “Is it serious?”
Emery nodded hard, “There was a lot of blood, and the wound
on my forehead that hadn’t healed broke open again.”
Terrence picked Bethany up and put her in the car, then quickly
walked into the villa.
Eliza and a few servants pretended to gather around Krista,

looking really worried.
Terrence came over and saw that Krista’s forehead was
bleeding and she was unconscious. He shouted angrily, “Are you
all stupid? Don’t you know to call an ambulance?”
Eliza said carefully, “I saw Mr. McConnell at home. Taking him.
straight to the hospital should be faster than waiting for an
ambulance”
Terrence was really annoyed and just picked Krista up and put
her in another car.
Terrence asked the driver to take Krista to the hospital.
Emery came out and squeezed into Krista’s car.
Terrence’s face darkened, “What are you doing? Your mom was
in my car. I was driving that car. Come with me.”
But Emery grabbed Krista’s arm and said with a pout, “Kristal
stayed with me for so long today, and she got hurt. I want to
stay with her too. Mom has you, right? You can be with Mom,
but Krista is all alone. She’s hurt worse than Mom, and it’s so sad
for her to be by herself.“”
Terrence pressed his lips together.

Emery was right, Bethany had him.
But Krista…
So he didn’t stop Emery from going to the hospital with Krista.
The driver drove away, and he got in his car.
He and the driver arrived at the hospital almost at the same
time, and the hospital’s emergency staff quickly came down to
get him.
Both of them were sent to the emergency room.
Emery stood at the door of Krista’s ER room, pacing back and
forth like a little grown–up.
Terrence was actually waiting outside Bethany’s ER room.
Bethany got a high fever and passed out because she was
anxious. Not long after, she opened her eyes, still a bit out of it.
Her doctor saw her wake up and said anxiously, “Ms. Zavala,
how can you not take care of your body? Your illness is so
serious, and you even got yourself all soaked and passed out
from a high fever! You have to stay in the hospital for
treatment!”
In a daze, Bethany remembered that when she was

unconscious, she had fallen into Terrence’s arms.
So, was it Terrence who brought her to the hospital?
If he was still outside, it was easy for him to find out that she
had cancer.
If he knew, it’d be even less likely for him to let her go out to
work. She couldn’t let him know.
She had to find a way to leave him as soon as possible!
But she didn’t have her phone, so she couldn’t answer the
doctor. She got flustered and started miming like she was
writing.
