way, where’s your mom?”

should’ve stayed with you a bit longer before leaving.”
Emery looked up and smiled at Krista, saying, “But don’t be
scared, Krista, Emery was with you.”
Terrence got to Bethany’s hospital room, and Bethany still had
her eyes closed.
He sat at the head of the bed.
The room was so quiet that Bethany could hear Terrence’s
breathing.

After a while, she heard Terrence’s footsteps going out.
