She took some medicine just now, not sure if it would help.
There were supermarkets and restaurants near her
neighborhood. She wanted to buy some thin porridge, but the
nearby restaurants didn’t have it, so she bought some bone
broth and a fruit yogurt smoothie instead and took them back
to her apartment.
The bone broth was hot, and it was left there to cool down. She
had some milkshake first. The sweet and sour taste really
satisfied her taste buds after being hungry for so long. But after
eating half, she still couldn’t help feeling a bit like throwing up.
She ran to the bathroom, leaned over the sink, gagged a few
times, but luckily didn’t throw up.
Because of the gagging, my throat felt a bit uncomfortable
again.
She came back and finished the rest of the milkshake more
slowly, luckily without feeling like she was going to throw up.
The bone broth was still hot, but she didn’t drink it. She was
going to take a nap.

Just as I lay down, a WhatsApp message came in on my phone.
It was two photos from Terrence.
One was a selfie, with bandages wrapped around the forehead.
One was a photo with a cast on the leg.
Then another message came in.
“Didn’t care about me? Didn’t want me anymore?”
Bethany left the chat and blocked Terrence on both WhatsApp
and phone.
The court already accepted her divorce case, and she had
nothing more to talk about with Terrence alone.
Terrence saw she didn’t reply and sent another message.

Evangeline walked out unhappily to look for the nurse. If
