Chapter 30
A surge like electricity shot up to the crown of Bethany’s head, spreading through her entire body.
Terrence turned her around, leaving her no room for resistance,
and captured her lips.
Unlike a mute person, who might whimper or make muffled sounds, Bethany couldn’t utter a single sound.
Terrence could only sense her reaction by her ragged breathing.
Bethany pushed hard against his chest, trying to fend him off.
Her body was so pliant, yet she was trying to resist.
Terrence grabbed her small hands and pressed her against the wall, pinning her wrist above her head.
Bethany blushed.
Terrence hadn’t been so turned on for ages.
Earlier in the bathroom, he had acted like a gentleman and left
after getting changed.
Bethany hadn’t expected him to do this.

She raised her leg to kick him.
But he pressed between her thighs, one hand lifting her hip.
Her legs dangled, trapped around his waist.
Afraid of falling, Bethany wrapped her legs around his waist.
She couldn’t even utter a protest.
She could only passively accept his advances.
But…
Bethany didn’t want this.
She didn’t want to crave him anymore.
As Terrence moved his mouth down to her collarbone, she bit
hard on her tongue.
His lips brushed the pink heart–shaped birthmark above her left
breast.
That mark darkened when she was aroused.
It was alluring.
Suddenly, a salty, metallic taste flooded Terrence’s mouth. He
thought she was crying.
He pulled back, raising his head.
Red blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, winding down
her delicate chin to her chest like a trail of tears.
She had never refused to make love with him before.
They had been married for seven years.
Was it because of the man tonight?
Terrence’s eyes darkened.
He narrowed his eyes and gripped her jaw, forcing her to open
her mouth.
Bethany reluctantly complied.
“Do you want to die?”
Terrence’s low voice dripped with a hint of anger.
He saw fresh blood oozing from her tender tongue.
He strode to the nightstand, grabbed a handful of wet wipes,
and returned to clean the blood from her skin.
Blood continued to seep from the corner of her mouth.
Frowning, Terrence thrust the remaining wipes into her hand

and hoisted her up.
When he carried Bethany out of the master bedroom, he ran
into Krista, who walked across the living room with a glass of
water in her hand.
“Terrence.”
She saw the blood on Bethany’s lips, the love bites on her neck,
and the bare shoulders in the disheveled bathrobe.
Krista pressed her lips together, feigning concern. “What
happened to Beth?”
“I’m taking her to the hospital. I’ll explain later.”
Terrence hurried out.
The glass slipped from Krista’s hand and shattered on the floor.
Had their lovemaking gotten so rough?
Blood from the mouth…
Bethany, that quiet mute, was surprisingly wild in bed.
No wonder she’d gotten pregnant with Terrence’s child so soon.
after their marriage.
If Terrence could stretch Bethany’s mouth
exceptionally huge.
If she wasn’t Terrence’s aunt in name, how would Bethany, that
mute, have gotten such a fine man?
Terrence took Bethany to the emergency room.
The doctor prescribed medication and stopped the bleeding, advising her to avoid hot foods, eat soft meals, and take extra
care.
After the wound was treated, Terrence helped Bethany into the
car.
He shut the door and glared at her. “You made such a big fuss and forced me to come pick you up, but now you’re playing
hard to get?”
Bethany didn’t understand his words.
She slowly signed, “Terrence, let’s divorce.”
Time seemed to freeze for a dozen seconds.
Terrence said with a mocking smile, “You showed off our marriage certificate in public in the daytime and then asked for
a divorce at night. You’re getting bold. Do you wanna challenge

my tolerance?”
Tolerance?
Who was the one being tolerated?
He brought his girlfriend home, and he thought he was
tolerant?
Bethany signed rapidly, “I don’t know what you’re talking
about. I didn’t show off our certificate. I promised you, and I
won’t break it easily.”
Although he had betrayed her, she had never intended to
confront him, let alone reveal their marriage in her final six
months.
Bethany knew at the parent–child event that Terrence would
never acknowledge her as his wife in public.
She wouldn’t beg for that.
“Seven years of marriage, and I never knew you were this good
at pretending.”
Bethany’s hands trembled as she signed. In the end, she put
down her hands and turned her face to the window.
There was nothing more to say.
Chapter 30
He wouldn’t believe her anyway.
It dawned.
Terrence’s phone rang.
It was synced to the car system, and Emery’s name flickered on
the dashboard screen.
Terrence pressed the answer button on the steering wheel.
Emery’s voice came through the speakers.
“Dad, something’s wrong. Come home quick. Krista… Krista…”
Emery’s voice wavered with panicked sobs.
Terrence narrowed his eyes and said, “Calm down. What
happened to Krista?”
There was undisguised concern in his voice.
