Then they called the medical staff and pushed his hospital bed
into Bethany’s bedroom.
He saw a few hairs on the wooden comb on the dressing table, took them out, and put them into a clear zip lock bag.
Kyson’s hair was put by him in another zip lock bag, and there was already a label on it. Terrence stuffed both zip lock bags into his pocket.
This was really important, he didn’t want anyone to know.
He needed to take it for appraisal himself.
Kyson got the message and left right away. He was really anxious on the way. Terrence went to find Bethany so quickly.
I didn’t know if it would get out of hand.
After Kyson came up, the apartment door was open, and two
medical staff were just standing at the door.
Kyson walked in and called out, “Terrence.”
“In the bedroom.”

Terrence’s voice came. Kyson walked to the master bedroom
door and saw that Terrence’s hospital bed was right next to the
bed in the room.
Kyson leaned against the doorframe and let out a heavy sigh,
“Look at yourself, do you really still look like the president of
the McConnell Group?”
Carrying a body full of injuries, with a broken leg, the bandages
were wet, there were water stains on the clothes, and the hair in
front wasn’t dry yet.
Looks like it was splashed with water.
It was pretty embarrassing.
“You had the nerve to say that!”
Kyson rubbed his temples, “What about Bethany?”
“Left.”
“She left, what did you want me to do?”
Kyson was totally confused by him.
“I’m not very mobile, so I’ll leave finding her to you. Contact me when you find her.”

“Right here?”
Terrence gave a soft mm.
“You couldn’t just say this over the phone? Had to make me
come all the way here? Made me worry the whole way!”
Terrence squinted at him, “You started this mess. If you don’t run around a bit more, how can you make it up to my leg?”
“What about you, wait here.”
“Or what.”
If he didn’t stay with her, he had a feeling she would really leave for good.
“I saw you here, she couldn’t possibly come back, Terrence, can you have some self–respect? You showed up and she left, she dislikes you, it’s so obvious she doesn’t want to see you, how can you be so shameless? I remember you used to care about your pride, don’t you think it’s awkward to stay here? Come on, can’t you just give her some time?”
“I’m thick–skinned, and you’re just talking big because it’s easy for you, huh? Do you even know how much trouble you caused me? If it were someone else, would you even have a chance to stand in front of me?”

Terrence got along well with Kyson and Daphne. When he was
in the last year of kindergarten, Daphne was in the first year,
and they often went to school together. In kindergarten, she
often went to find him, and others even thought she was his
little sister.
She was a really good friend when we were kids. Later, after
Daphne went missing, I heard she brought a birthday cake to
the McConnell family for Terrence that day, and then she never
came back.
Terrence’s birthday was the anniversary of his mother’s death.
Since he was born, he didn’t celebrate his birthday and didn’t invite Daphne to the McConnell’s villa to spend his birthday
with him.
The Duarte family knew this, and they didn’t blame Terrence
for it.
