It took until the next day to get all the checkup results.
Bethany came out of the hospital and actually ran into
Terrence.
Terrence was sitting in a wheelchair today.
Terrence didn’t know that Bethany had been in the hospital
before, and it was in Julio’s hospital.
I thought she was here to check her throat again.
He came to the hospital to deliver test samples.
Today the doctor said he could use a wheelchair, so he asked the driver to drop him off, and he came in alone in an electric
wheelchair.
He moved his wheelchair over to Bethany, sounding really
concerned, “Your throat still hasn’t healed?”
Bethany didn’t want to bother with him, but she just had a physical exam. If Terrence got mad and started looking into her business, he could easily find out about her illness. She didn’t know what he would do after that, but she knew it would
definitely mess up her own plans.
So, she didn’t ignore him. Instead, she signed, “It’s not a serious
injury. It’s been a few days. I’m pretty much fine now.”
It was rare that she was actually pretty nice to him, so Terrence
thought maybe there was a chance to talk.
He glanced at his watch, “It’s noon, wanna grab lunch together?”
Bethany raised her hand, her mood was calm, “I have something
else to do.”
“Then you go ahead and get busy first.”
Terrence didn’t make things hard for her.
Although we didn’t say much, it seemed like no one was mad, which was a rare kind of harmony.
That’s exactly why Terrence didn’t think much about it and just thought she was there to get her throat checked again.
He went to the appraisal center and handed in the documents.
What he provided was hair, and even with rush processing, it still took 2-3 business days.
The identification center told him that when the results were

out, they would text him to come and get the paternity test.
After taking care of this, Terrence had the driver take him to
the neighborhood where Bethany lived.
The person arrived, but he didn’t get out. He sat in the car and glanced up at Bethany’s floor a few times.
Sat in the car for a whole hour before telling the driver to take him back to the Gilbert’s villa.
Cedric and Tabitha still couldn’t help wanting to see Bethany. When they saw Terrence come back, Tabitha talked to Terrence and said he could use a wheelchair now, so she asked him to bring Bethany home.
“Still hadn’t made up after the fight.”
He wanted to take it, but Bethany just didn’t give him a chance.
Tabitha said seriously, “You had a fight and you’re not going to apologize? Couples don’t hold grudges overnight.””
What happened between them wasn’t as simple as just saying
sorry.
“Let’s talk about it later.”
“You kid, you’ve been married for cor
didn’t let me meet your wife, what did that mean? Your mom didn’t get a chance to see your wife, you should at least give
your grandma a chance, let grandma help your mom check out
your wife.”
When he talked about his mother, Terrence couldn’t help feeling a bit sad.
During their mother’s pregnancy, she left quite a few farewell letters, all written for the two siblings to read.
For the mother, she felt sorry that she couldn’t raise them, and even more sorry that she couldn’t see them get married and
have kids.
Terrence’s deep eyes looked dark and complicated.
