“Yeah, Terrence said they had a bit of a fight, he came over hurt, just to find his wife.”
Evangeline was stunned for a while, but she snapped out of it
pretty quickly. Looking for Bethany was better than looking for Krista.

She thought it was for Krista.
The doorbell rang outside again.
Tabitha quickly got up again, pulled Cedric, and said happily, “This time it must really be them, Evangeline, Krista, you guys come with me to greet them.”
It had to be more formal.
If it was based on Evangeline’s usual attitude, she definitely wouldn’t have gone to meet Bethany, but today she really was going to pick her up, just to let Krista know that Terrence had a wife, so she’d give up on him sooner.
The gate of the villa yard opened.
Kyson was holding the framed picture, and Bethany was

standing right next to him.
Terrence was at the very back of the crowd, still watching
Bethany from a distance.
There was a quiet gentleness about her, like she could make the
air around her feel soft.
Tabitha and Cedric were really satisfied the moment they saw Bethany.
It didn’t matter if I couldn’t talk.
She was pretty, gentle, and quiet. A girl like that actually
matched Terrence quite well.
If someone was too loud and lively, they looked a bit out of place, standing next to Terrence.
Tabitha came up with a big smile, “Kyson, this is Beth, right?”
Kyson nodded.
Tabitha held Bethany’s hand and said, “I’m Terrence’s grandma. Come on, get inside.”
Tabitha’s enthusiasm for Bethany made Krista really
uncomfortable. She felt like something that belonged to her was
taken away, and she couldn’t do anything about it.
Bethany went into the villa and barely even looked at Terrence.
Just as we sat down, Tabitha took out the pearl bracelet and
said, “Beth, this is a gift for you. Come here, Grandma will put it on for you.”
Bethany and Terrence were getting divorced, she actually didn’t really want Tabitha’s gift.
But she just got here, and if I brought it up, tonight would end badly.
The two old people looked like they were in a good mood and treated her warmly. Maybe the reason they hadn’t seen each other for seven years wasn’t their fault.
They were old. It was their first meeting. Bethany wasn’t someone who didn’t understand things or wouldn’t even give face to the elderly.
There’s a saying, you don’t hit someone who’s smiling. She was mute. Over the years, she met all kinds of people. Cedric and Tabitha seemed like really nice and well–mannered old folks.
Tabitha put the pearl bracelet on Bethany’s wrist and said, “Beth looked really pretty with it on.”
Kyson quickly took out the picture frame, “Grandpa Xu,

Grandma Xu, this is a gift Bethany prepared for you.”
They pulled back the protective cloth, and a line of neat, strong handwriting came into view.
There was a long–lost sparkle in Terrence’s eyes.
He had seen the floating quilting technique before. Bethany had the skill to cut it all by hand. As for that line of writing, if you
didn’t have some calligraphy skills, it was really hard to outline edges like that.
Cedric knew a lot about calligraphy, and when he saw this quilting painting, it caught his eye.
“Handmade?”
Cedric knew Bethany couldn’t answer, so he asked Kyson.
“Yeah, it was pure hand–made quilting, pretty hard to tell, right? Your granddaughter–in–law knew that long–lost embossed
quilting. My grandpa was really fond of her work.”
