Evangeline came out of Terrence’s room and saw Cedric and
Tabitha carrying a bunch of gifts, getting ready to go out.
“Grandpa, Grandma, where were you going?”
“Went out to see a friend.”
The two old people grabbed the gifts and went out.
Krista stood on the balcony on the second floor and saw that the two old people and Evangeline had all gone out, so she came downstairs.
Took a deep breath.
It was rare to find a time when no one was home.
These past couple of days, because of her adoptive parents, she tried not to talk to Terrence at home and acted like she was
invisible.

Staying at the Gilbert’s villa didn’t mean anything to her
anymore.
The only meaning was that I still had this connection with
Terrence, and because of it, I could still see him from time to time.
Krista stood at Terrence’s door and knocked.
“Come in.””
Krista pushed the door open, Terrence was sitting in his wheelchair smoking.
She frowned a little, “Terrence, you’re not healed yet, smoke less.”
Krista used to open the window.
Terrence put out the cigarette butt in the ashtray.
Krista came over, Terrence lifted his eyelids, “You need something?”
Krista sat down on the couch across from him and said, “I heard everything Mom and Dad said to you this morning. Is Beth really filing for divorce?”
“Yeah.”

Krista lowered her head and sounded guilty, “I’ve been thinking, and I don’t think there’s any big conflict between you two. Ever since I first went to Vespera Villa, she’s been acting a bit weird. I
she misunderstood you.”
“Terrence.” Krista looked up, “How about we go find her
together and explain everything to her?”
“No need.”
During that time, he didn’t want to go to Bethany anymore.
He came to her all hurt.

“We’re clean between us…” Before he finished, Terrence thought
of that night and stopped. He still hadn’t explained things to Krista. Then he said, “About that night, sorry, I drank too much. Don’t overthink it. It won’t happen again.”
Krista knew he trusted her, so he wouldn’t suspect he was drugged, but always thought he just got drunk.
It just ended up with Bethany getting the better deal, and she felt upset just thinking about it. Because of that, Bethany even gave her the finger.
If Evangeline hadn’t run over and messed things up for her, things wouldn’t have turned out like this.
With the respect and care Terrence had for her, he would definitely be responsible for her.
“You drank too much, how could I blame you…” Krista pressed her lips together. It didn’t seem like a good time to talk about their relationship, so she changed the subject, “I’m planning to go to Rivermond in the next couple of days.”
