Bethany always felt it wasn’t quite right.
First, she just got divorced. Second, with Kyson’s status and
talent, he could totally find a woman who’s never been married,
not someone like her who already had a kid and got divorced.
Jameson just asked Kyson, “If Beth and Terrence got divorced,
would you want to marry her?”
This made Bethany really embarrassed, she had never thought
about her relationship with Kyson that way.
After all, Kyson and Terrence were still pretty familiar with
each other, and their relationship wasn’t bad.
“I was willing.”
He really was willing, no girl had ever made him care this much.
There wasn’t any other girl who moved him like this.
There wasn’t any other girl he liked this much.
So, he was willing.
Even if she was married, it didn’t matter.

If she wanted Emery, he would figure out a way to get Emery
from the McConnell family for her.
Bethany was stunned and didn’t even dare to look up at Kyson.
If it involved romantic feelings, she probably wouldn’t dare
contact Kyson again.
She thought Kyson knew about her marriage with Terrence,
and that all his concern for her was just as a friend.
With that thing between Jameson and her grandma, she really
wasn’t ready to start a new relationship.
Jameson laughed and said, “Beth, Kyson was willing. I think you
two were a good match. After I first knew about you, I wanted
to talk to you about this, but then you and Terrence got
married, so I felt awkward bringing it up. Now that you and
Terrence are getting divorced, I don’t feel awkward anymore. I
don’t want someone else to take you away. From now on, just
be the daughter–in–law of the Duarte family.”
Kyson suddenly said, “Not yet.”
Jameson frowned, “You just promised. Are you trying to go
back on your word?”
“Not really“”

Kyson was worried it was too sudden, and Bethany looked
really awkward. If she didn’t dare to come to him anymore, that
wouldn’t be good. At least now, whenever she ran into trouble,
he was still the first person she thought of.
Kyson explained to Jameson, “Haven’t we still not found my
little sister? I talked to Beth not long ago. If we still couldn’t find
her by the last minute, I’d have Beth pretend to be my sister to
fulfill my mom’s wish. But if I made things official with her and
got engaged, then it wouldn’t be right to have her pretend.”
Mentioning his granddaughter, Jameson couldn’t help but feel a
bit sad. He said to Bethany, “Your personality and temper are
actually a lot like my granddaughter’s. By the way, how old are
you this year?”
Bethany wrote on the paper: “Twenty–seven.””
“Our Daphne was a year younger than you, but sadly she got
lost when she was six. It’s been twenty years and we still
haven’t found her.”
Bethany wrote some comforting words under the paper, “Mr.
Duarte has been looking, and with all the new technology,
maybe they’ll find it soon.”
Because his granddaughter was mentioned, Jameson couldn’t
help but feel a bit sad. He sat for a while longer and then said he

was tired and needed to rest. He told Bethany to get some sleep too and adjust to the time difference, so she wouldn’t be in bad
shape for court tomorrow.
Kyson took Bethany to the guest room. When he walked her to
the door, Kyson said, “Beth, don’t feel pressured. My grandpa
has always missed your grandma and wants to set us up, but he’s just talking. He’s old, and I just agreed to make him happy. If
you don’t want to, I won’t force you. Don’t overthink it, okay?”
