“Okay, where are you guys? I’ll come pick you up.”
“I hung up and sent you my location.“”
After Bethany and Shyla finished eating, they waited for Julio
to come over, and soon, Julio arrived.
“Is this the goddaughter you just acknowledged?”
“Yeah, her name was Shyla,” Bethany introduced. “Shyla, this is
Uncle Julio.””
“Uncle Julio was good.”
Shyla said hi in a sweet voice.
“Good girl,” Julio praised, then smiled and asked Bethany,
“Whose kid is this?”
“The Duarte family’s, Kyson’s aunt’s granddaughter”
Yeah, it seemed like Bethany didn’t have any other friends
around her, either.
This Kyson, really gave me a headache. He didn’t show up, just
sent a goddaughter to follow Bethany.

Even though Julio was a bit jealous and a little upset, he didn’t argue with a kid. He still talked to Shyla gently and got in the
car with both of them.
Shyla went to a boarding school. She could only leave school
during monthly breaks, big holidays, and winter and summer
vacations.
I guess that was why, when they walked into the amusement
park, Shyla was as happy as a little butterfly and grabbed
Bethany’s hand to run inside.
Shyla’s parents were gone. Even though she was brought over,
Kyson had to work, and his parents were abroad. Jameson was
getting old. I guess there really wasn’t anyone who could be
with Shyla.
It was like, if Kyson was busy today, Shyla probably couldn’t
come to the amusement park.
Thinking about this, Bethany felt pretty bad for the little girl.
Luckily, the little girl was still lively and didn’t get down or
sensitive because of all this.
“Bethany, I wanted to ride the carousel.”
“Alright, let’s go.”

Julio was going to buy tickets. Shyla held her card and said,
“Santa gave me this card last night, so I don’t need Uncle Julio to
pay for me. Uncle Julio, do you want to sit? Let’s sit together?”
“I was outside watching you guys, taking pictures for you,
okay?”
“Thank you, Uncle Julio.”
Shyla took the prepaid card and swiped it twice, then went to
ride the carousel with Bethany.
“Bethany, I wanted to sit with you. I was scared to be alone.”
“Come.”
Bethany picked Shyla up and sat behind her, holding Shyla
safely in her arms.
Kyson and Jameson were nice to Bethany, so of course she
helped take care of Shyla. Besides, Shyla was her goddaughter.
She was a woman who really loved kids, otherwise she
wouldn’t have done so much for Emery before. Her mom died
early, and her dad left her. She knew how important parents‘
love was for a kid.
The carousel started spinning, the music sounded nice, the lights

Evangeline brought Emery to the playground too, and not far
away, Emery saw his mom holding Shyla in her arms.
