Chapter 18
After the introductions, she went to the lounge to rest.
Saying that he needed to attend to something, Terrence asked
Krista to keep an eye on Emery.
Krista told him not to worry about a thing.
Then, Terrence found Joanne in the lounge.
S
Seeing him, Joanne smiled, “As you could see, I have standards for
my students. Not just anyone can learn from me. They must be
competent enough to carry on my dreams and goals.”
Terrence had received an elite education since he was little. He
was graceful and generous. Naturally, he respected a renowned
director like Joanne.
“Ms. Guzman, I understand. Since Krista doesn’t fit your
standards, I won’t force you to take her as your last student. But
you love comics and wanna contribute to this industry. You
won’t mind guiding a kid enthusiastic about comics, right?”
Standing before the poster of the comic convention at the
entrance, Bethany scanned the QR code to learn the schedule of
future activities.
She overheard visitors‘ discussion while looking at her phone.
Chapter 18
“Who is that woman? She is so lucky to have married the love of
her life. Joanne mentioned her again during her introduction to
other designs. Her resignation was a loss to Joanne.“”
“Right. If I were so talented and so valued by Joanne, I wouldn’t
choose love over my career. Men aren’t reliable. Only money and
a career stay loyal.”
“Tell me about it. She is lucky if she’s happy. Otherwise, she’d
have given up her career over nothing.”
Bethany’s lips went pale.
Just then, Terrence and Joanne came out of the lounge together.
Joanne had the “Last Judgment” taken off the wall.
“Mr. McConnell, I’ll have someone deliver this piece to your
home.”
Terrence took out a check for $5 million from his wallet and
handed it to Joanne.
Joanne frowned. “I saw your son’s comic paper–cut illustration.
His style is the same as this student of mine. That’s why I’m
giving this design to you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be doing this, no matter how much you pay.”‘
“Sorry.”
Chapter 18
Terrence put away the check and added, “Thank you, Ms.
Guzman. I won’t take up any more of your time. Please feel free
to contact me if you need anything.”
He was ready to leave when Joanne called him.
“Anything else, Ms. Guzman?”
Joanne hesitated and said, “Nothing. Bye.“”
In fact, she appreciated Emery’s talent.
However, as Terrence’s son, he was destined to take over the
McConnell Group in the future.
Terrence walked to Krista and Emery. He picked up his son and continued to look around the gallery.
Once again, Joanne felt it was a shame.
Back in the hotel, Bethany packed her things and returned to Rivermond.
