Chapter 62 Being Tailed

“Don’t push it. Jemima!” Julius was furious. He scooped Nadine into his arms and strode toward the car. “To the hospital!” he
ordered.
Ronan quickly stepped aside, glancing back at Jemima, who was still sitting alone in her wheelchair. “But-
Before he could finish, Julius slammed the car door shut.
Ronan hesitated for a moment, then nodded apologetically to Jemima before getting into the car and driving away.
As the vehicle disappeared into traffic, the surrounding crowd cast sympathetic glances at Jemima. In the end, her husband had chosen another woman over her and left.
But some onlookers had a different take–some saw Jemima as cruel and heartless, while the other woman appeared gentle, devoted, and utterly self–sacrificing, never even fighting back.
Jemima watched the departing car, a faint smile playing on her lips.
Across the street, a row of cars had pulled over, their occupants drawn to the spectacle,
Earlier, when Louis had been driving past, he spotted Nadine standing at the entrance, looking agitated and restless. Sensing that something was about to unfold, he had parked the car and waited.
Fortunately, Scott hadn’t reacted, which meant tacit approval.
In the backseat, Scott’s gaze rested on the woman sitting alone, a smirk on her lips. At that moment, he finally understood the real meaning behind her social media post.
“Mr. Sterling, shouldn’t we help Ms. Willis?” Louis asked hesitantly, despite the risk of getting scolded.
Even Zander chimed in, though he didn’t have Louis‘ nerve.
We can’t just leave her there, can we?
Scott glanced at them lazily. “If you want to help. go ahead. Just don’t make it seem like I’m the bad guy here.”
That was all they needed to hear.
Louis immediately swung the car around.
But before they could reach Jemima, a white BMW pulled up ahead of thenk, A woman in a red business suit stepped out. Her sleck pantsuit, paired with a black blouse, gave off an air of cool confidence.
She hurried over to Jemima. “Why are you back in a wheelchair? Did Julius lose his mind and try to break your legs to keep you from running away?”
“Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Not as ridiculous as this situation” Amelia raised an eyebrow
Jemima chuckled, her expression sly–like a fox who’d just pulled off a perfect trick. “Well, the results speak for themselves. don’t they?”
Amelia smirked as she pushed the wheelchair toward her car. “I just hope this doesn’t backfire. Nadine’s like a ticking time
A shadow flickered in Jemima’s eyes. “Even if I left her alone–even if we outmaneuvered the Goodwin family and had her locked up–she’d still find a way to stir up trouble. As long as she’s breathing, she’s a threat. So why not use that to my advantage? The man I don’t want? She’s desperate to snatch him. It’s just another way to get the same result.”
Amelia was speechless.
In the end, different paths led to the same destination

Meanwhile, the Bentley behind them slowly started moving as well.

Louis, watching the scene unfold, was puzzled. “Wait a second… did Ms. Willis already know Julius was going to leave her? Did she arrange for her friend to pick her up ahead of time?”
Zander scoffed. “Probably a coincidence. How could she have predicted Nadine’s meltdown at the airport? She wasn’t psychic.
“Maybe… she never planned on leaving with Julius in the first place. She must’ve called her friend before any of this happened,” he added.
Louis nodded. “That does make sense.”
”
Both men instinctively glanced at the rearview mirror, wary of their boss reaction–though curious about what he thought.
Scott had closed his eyes. He had no interest in getting involved.
Both cars drove in the same direction, passing through traffic, five red lights, and three turns before Amelia noticed something unsettling. The Bentley was still following them.
Jemima, meanwhile, had dozed off in the passenger seat, clearly exhausted by the day’s events.
Amelia, growing increasingly wary, kept checking her rearview mirror.
Ten minutes later, they neared their destination. And the car was still behind them. If it weren’t a Bentley Mulsanne, she would’ve thought Nadine had sent someone after them..
An assassin wouldn’t drive a luxury car, right?
Just as they were about to enter the gated residential complex, Amelia’s stomach dropped. That car was still following them. She reached over and gently shook Jemima awake. “Jemma, wake up… quick!”
“Hmm? Are we there?” Jemima blinked, then rolled down the window slightly to let the breeze wake her up.
Amelia’s grip tightened on the wheel. “That car’s been tailing in? Do they
us the whole way… Wait, how the hell did they ge live here too?”
