Chapter 65 Can You Help Take Care Of Her

As soon as he reached the bed, Nadine sprang up, wrapping herself around him like a snake. Her arms clung to his neck, and her legs locked around his waist.
“Nadinel” Julius was furious, wanting to shove her off immediately.
But Nadine only tightened her grip, her breathing quick and uneven. Her soft murmurs tickled his ear. “Don’t push me away… It hurts so much. Don’t believe me? Feel it. I just want to hold you… I can’t wait to have you….”
She pressed her lips to his neck, her hands wandering across his broad back.
“Stop messing around…” Julius warned, his voice strained.
Despite his anger, his breathing had turned ragged, and his grip on her had loosened.
Sensing his hesitation, Nadine held on even tighter, using her body and sultry words to tempt him further. Kneeling on the bed, she reached for his zipper…
“Stop!”
Suddenly, an image of Jemima flashed through Julius’s mind–her tear–filled eyes as she burned their marriage certificate, the unbearable sorrow on her face. A sharp pang struck his heart, as if a needle had pierced straight through it. In an instant, the fire inside him was extinguished, replaced by an icy chill
With a forceful shove, he pushed Nadine away, hastily zipped up his pants, and turned on his heel, storming out of the room like he was fleeing.
Nadine slammed her fists against the bed in frustration.
She had been so close. If only she could get him in her bed again, she knew he wouldn’t be able to let her go.
By the time Amelia returned from grocery shopping, she received an unexpected call–her mother had hurt her back and she needed to go back. She went back to give Jemima a heads–up
“I’m fine.” Jemima reassured her. “I’ll just order some takeout later. You should go take care of Ms. Hughes.”
“If you need anything, call me, okay?”
“All right.”
Even though Amelia was reluctant to leave, she had no other choice.
As she descended the stairs, she ran into Zander, who was just coming down from the top floor. A thought struck her. “Jemma’s injury is technically work–related, right? She doesn’t have anyone to take care of her at night. Since you live just downstairs, could you keep an eye on her?”
Zander didn’t hesitate. “No problem.”
Amelia smiled. Thanks.”
“No need,” Zander replied. “I’ll check in with Mr. Callen now.”
He immediately called Louis, relaying Amelia’s request.
On the other end. Louis agreed without hesitation.
After hanging up, he walked into the study. “Mr. Sterling, Ms. Willis‘ friend ran into Zander and asked if we could help look after her tonight”
Scott glanced up from his computer. A pair of slender, silver–framed glasses rested on his finely sculpted nose. His deep–set almond eyes held a hint of indifference, but beneath that lay something unreadable.
“You’re suggesting three men take care of one injured woman overnight?”

Scott’s gaze didn’t waver. “Did anyone bother to ask her what she wants?”

“All right.” He dialed Jemima’s number right in front of Scott. “Ms. Willis, your friend asked us to check in on you tonight. Mr. Sterling wanted me to ask if you’d be comfortable with that.”
Jemima, half–asleep in her lounge chair, was caught off guard.
Mia, you little troublemaker!
“You wanted my opinion?” she asked aloud.
“Yes,” Louis confirmed. “Since we’re all men, Mr. Sterling was concerned you might feel uncomfortable. So, he wanted to check with you first. Do you mind?”
How could she possibly say no after he phrased it so politely?
Jemima forced a smile. “I don’t mind at all. But wouldn’t that be too much trouble for you?”
“Not at all.” Louis replied cheerfully. “I even made some homemade chicken soup. I’ll bring it over for you soon.”
“This is the soup you made for Mr. Sterling, isn’t it? It wouldn’t be right for me to drink it.”
“Then you should invite him to join us. You can both have a taste together.”
Jemima panicked. “No, no, no! Please don’t! Actually, I’ve already ordered takeout!”
Louis ignored her protests. Takeout isn’t nutritious enough. You need something nourishing while you recover. I’ll come down and bring you upstairs for dinner. You can join Mr. Sterling.”
“Absolutely not!”
“It’s settled then,” Louis said, hanging up before she could argue further.
Jemima sat frozen, completely speechless.
In the study, Scott let out a quiet sigh as he observed Louis‘ beaming expression. “You really get bolder with age.”
Louis simply smiled. “Takeout isn’t good for her. Besides, I heard from Zander that she got injured because of work. She’s such a good employee can you really stand by and let her eat alone?”
Scott didn’t respond.
up now!
Louis took that as silent approval. “Then I’ll head down to bring her up
