Chapter 70 Trending Post On Twitter
“All right then.” Jemima said, listening to him.
She quickly packed a few pieces of clothing before following Scott up to the top floor.
By then, Louis had already gone to sleep.
Scon led her to the guest rOOM.
“It’s late. You should rest,” he said simply before turning to leave.
Finished
Jemima lay on the unfamiliar bed, a surreal feeling washing over her. Somehow, she had not only scored a free meal but also ended up spending the night in Scott’s extravagant penthouse.
The night was restless, filled with fragmented, chaotic dreams.
Morning came too soon. Still groggy. Jemima stirred as her phone buzzed loudly. She squinted at the screen–Wynter was calling
She answered, barely getting a word out before Wynter’s excited voice burst through. “Babe! Your phone is finally on! Check Twitter right now!”
“Twitter?” Jemima mumbled, pulling the phone away from her ear. She tapped on the app, and her drowsiness vanished in an instant. Several influencers had shared the same video. It had already skyrocketed to the top.
The video captured a scene from the previous afternoon outside the airport.
However, it had been heavily edited, twisting the narrative into something entirely different. In this version, the delicate and innocent Nadine was mercilessly slapped by the so–called “demoness” Jemima, portrayed as cruel and vengeful
Curiously, Julius–the actual male lead in the situation–had been completely edited out. What remained was a carefully crafted clip showing only Jemima confronting Nadine.
But the real twist? The outrage online wasn’t directed at Jemima, who appeared aggressive in the video. Instead, the influencers had turned on Nadine.
Not only had her identity been exposed, but she was also ridiculed for shamelessly pursuing a married man despite being a wealthy heiress. She had only herself to blame for getting slapped.
Mistresses were seen as a societal plague, and public tolerance for them was near zero. Condemnation came swiftly and mercilessly.
At first, viewers felt sympathy for Nadine after watching the video. But the moment the truth surfaced, any trace of pity vanished instantly..
The comment section was overwhelmingly in Jemima’s favor–nearly ninety percent supported her.
Some reveled in Nadine’s downfall, claiming the slap was far too lenient. Others, more extreme, suggested she should be stripped and paraded through town as a lesson. The frenzy didn’t stop there. Soon, netizens began digging into Nadine’s past, and in doing so, dragged the entire Goodwin family into the spotlight.
Jemima noticed that the first post had been made by an anonymous user the previous evening. The influencers, however, hadn’t picked it up until after two in the morning.
“Wax this your doing?” Wynter asked eagerly.
Jemima chuckled. “You really think it was me?”
“I’ve been trying to figure out who pulled this off. It feels like something you’d do, yet… it doesn’t quite match your usual style. But honestly, who else could stir things up like this if not you?”
“Maybe it’s easier to see it as just an onlooker who doesn’t take kindly to homewreckers,” Jemima suggested.
“Oh, come on. Would a mere onlooker go to such lengths and pay influencers to spread it?”

“At the end of the day, does it really matter who did it! The outcome is what truly counts.”
Finished
“The outcome?” Wynter’s curiosity grew at Jemima’s confident tone. “Wait–could it have been someone who admires you? Like Scott?”
Lean
Jemima burst into laughter. “Darling, I can’t say much, but I can assure you–it wasn’t me, and it definitely wasn’t Scott.”
Jemima left the rest unsaid.
After ending the call, she immediately dialed Amelia’s number to fill her in on the situation blowing up on Twitter.
Amelia had spent the night at home, keeping her mother company after she injured her waist while dancing. She had only just woken up.
After scrolling through Twitter and piecing things together, she frowned. “Could it be Amanda? She deliberately erased Julius from the video–clearly, she didn’t want him implicated.”
“Amanda?” Jemima scoffed. “She’d rather bury this whole mess in a deep pit than dig it up herself. Why would she be foolish enough to stir things up again?”
“Good point. Then who’s behind this?”
Jemima paused for a moment before saying. “My guess… Nadine herself.”
“That’s impossible. She’s the biggest victim here. Her reputation is in shambles, and the entire internet is slandering her. Why would she willingly put herself through this?” Amelia fell silent for a moment before realization dawned upon her. “If she really did this to herself… then all I can say is–she’s completely insane. Like, psychiatric–level insane.”
Nadine ruined herself, dragged the entire Goodwin family down with her, all just to play the victim in front of Julius? Is that even possible?
Jemima exhaled. “Let’s just wait and see. My parents will come across the video sooner or later. They don’t know I’m hurt,
and when they put the pieces together, they might misunderstand the situation. Can you talk to them first? Let them know I’ll be home in a few days.”
“Don’t worry.” Amelia reassured her. “I’ve already spoken to them. They took it surprisingly well.”
Jemima sighed. “I should’ve told them sooner…”
She had wanted to spare them the worry, thinking she’d explain everything when the time was right. But in the end, they had to learn the truth in the worst possible way. Guilt gnawed at her–she felt like she had let them down.
Sensing her uncase, Amelia said gently, “What’s done is done. Don’t overthink it. Right now, the priority is the divorce. I’m planning to talk to Julius about it again today.”
