My brother used his full Alpha strength, his fingers digging into Selene’s throat with a force that would have instantly killed a human. A low, primal growl rumbled from deep in his chest – the sound of a predator ready to eliminate a threat to his pack.
At first, Selene struggled fiercely, her own claws extending as she raked bloody lines down his forearms. Her eyes flashed golden with panic.
“You’re… hurting… the baby,” she choked out between desperate gasps for air.
But my brother was beyond hearing. His eyes blazed crimson, veins darkening around them as his wolf pushed closer to the surface. Soon Selene’s struggles weakened, tears streaming down her reddening face, her lips turning blue.
“Let me go… *cough* *cough*… you’re wrong!” she gasped, her voice barely audible. “I never meant
“I’ve seen the evidence and you’re still lying!” he roared, the sound rattling the medical equipment nearby. “Give me back my sister! What did you do to her? WHAT DID YOU DO?”
With each question, he slammed her against the wall, plaster cracking and crumbling around her. The wolf in him was taking over completely now, rational thought giving way to pure protective rage.
“Help! Someone help me!” Selene’s cries grew more desperate as she realized he might actually kill her. “He’s gone feral! HELP!”
My brother had completely lost control. His fangs were fully extended now, his face partially shifted – something no Alpha should ever allow to happen in public. Selene’s panicked screams echoed through the hospital corridor, drawing the attention of staff and patients alike.
If Dr. Winters, the head Pack healer, hadn’t happened to pass by and intervened with a syringe full of wolfsbane extract, my brother might have actually ripped out Selene’s throat right there in the sterile hospital hallway.
