Chapter 30 Red Is The New White
“Dear Nadine, your family asked for proof and I’ve provided it,” I grinned.M
Damon handed me the files, “Here, Princess, more proof.“}
“Inside this folder is proof of your crimes. Two years ago you hired someone to stab me to death, killing my nine–month–old pregnancy. Weeks ago, you hired people to kidnap and push me out of a moving car because you wanted me dead but my three months old pregnancy was terminated instead.“}
I watched the crowd as they all stared at Nadine with wild eyes like the villain that she was then I continued.“}
“But you didn’t stop your wickedness there. In your quest to have full control over Jacob even though the fucking bastard loved you, you found out you were barren and rather than adopt a child you faked a pregnancy with this doctor who had no choice because you kidnapped his daughter.”
“You kidnapped a woman and stole Jacob’s sperm and forced the doctor to inject it into the woman. When the woman gave birth you took her baby and ordered that she be killed.“}
“The doctor lied, he couldn’t kill her so he hid her. You’re not Angel’s mother, you’re a lying cheating whore who even framed Damon for rape six years ago when you were the one opening your whore legs for everyone in college.”
“Oh my God!” Jacob gasped, his face morphed in shock.
People started murmuring.
“She’s an evil bitch!”
“Wicked witch of Grey house.”
“I can’t believe the Grey has her as a daughter.”
“I can’t be associated with this family.”
“Your reckoning is here, Nadine, and I’m your karma,” I said to her.
“You lying deceitful bitch!” Peter snarled and slapped her.
“How could you?!” her father yelled at her.
“Mommy, I can explain… Jacob…” she cried pathetically.
“You’re no daughter of mine!” her mother snapped and slapped her.
“From today, you’ve been ousted from the Grey family, you’ve forfeited all your inheritance. Security, drag her out of here,” her grandfather said.
“No, I’m sorry!” Nadine screamed, crying.
The security came to drag her away and I waved at her.
“Bye, bitch, the policemen are waiting for you outside,” I laughed.
As she screamed, her family turned to me and Damon including the wronged victim.
“We owe you an apology. What can we do to fix –”
“Nadine, no!” I heard Peter yell.
I saw Nadine running to me with full force, her knife glinting in the night light.
“You ruined everything for me, Lily, I’ll kill you!” she screamed.
The knife never touched me, Damon shielded me with his body but Peter pushed us all away and ended up being stabbed.”
I watched as he bled to death with the knife embedded in his chest as he reached out for me.
“I told you I’d die before I let anyone touch you,” he mumbled.
Jacob ran toward him while I remained standing, frozen in Damon’s arms.
“You manipulative evil bitch!” Jacob cried out in rage.

“I didn’t mean it, Jacob, I’m her words were cut short when he stabbed her with the same knife she killed his brother with.
The police finally entered the house and arrested Jacob but then Nadine and Peter were already dead.
As they dragged Jacob away, he turned sorrowful eyes to me.}
“I’m truly sorry, Lily, and I wish you all the happiness in the world.”
Everyone was screaming and running away. Nadine’s grandfather fainted and died of a heart attack at the spot.
Damon took me outside and wrapped his jacket around me.
I stared at him, my eyes filled with tears.
“I didn’t want anyone to die,” I said.”
“I know that, Princess, hush now, it’s over” he said, hugging me.}
Then I pulled away from him, “You were going to take the knife for me. You were going to… you could have died, Damon.”
Damon nodded, “I know that, Lily, I’d rather die for you than to live without you.”
“You buffon!” I cried, smacking his head, “If you had died it would have killed me because I love you!“}
Damon exclaimed in delight as he suddenly got down on one knee.

“Then marry me, please, for real this time. Not an arranged marriage.“}
I took the diamond ring and wore it, “I already agreed to marry you, Damon, you just didn’t realize that.“”
He swept me off my feet and kissed me passionately, twirling me around.
It was finally over.

Two days later, I went shopping with my mom for the perfect wedding dress and then I saw it. My mom was surprised at my choice but even she agreed it was a brilliant choice.
Jacob had killed himself in jail, Angel went back to her mother, the Grey family was facing bankruptcy, while my family and I were having the best time of our lives with Damon and his grandfather.”
Finally, the wedding day came and I was excited. As I stood outside with butterflies in my stomach waiting for the bride song to begin my parents and Damon’s grandfather stood outside with me.}
The three of them were going to walk me down the aisle. I stared at my dress and fidgeted.”
“This is stupid, maybe I should change,” I said.”
“No!” they all said.”
“You’re beautiful,” my dad said.}
“You look stunning darling,” my mom said.”
“You’ll make my grandson weak in his knees when he sees you, I’m betting on you getting pregnant tonight,” grandpa said.”
Everyone exclaimed and my cheeks reddened. Finally the bride’s chorus came on and they held me as they walked me down the aisle in the church.
The church fell silent the moment I stepped in.
Every head turned. Every eye widened.}
I wasn’t in white.}
I wore a deep, blood–red gown that shimmered like fire under the stained–glass light–off–shoulder, cinched at the waist, with a slit and a train that flowed behind me like spilled silk. Embroidered black roses climbed across the bodice like scars turned beautiful.
I walked up to Damon and he held me.
“You’re so fucking beautiful and crazy,” he said, laughing.
“Isn’t she supposed to wear white?” someone in the audience asked.
Damon turned to face the crowd with a smile, “Haven’t you heard, red is the new white.”
The church roared with laughter as we exchanged our vows and became blessed as husband and wife.
“Mrs. Sterling, may I kiss you?” Damon asked with a smirk.
I grinned, “I don’t know, Mr. Sterling, have you been a good boy?”
As his arms wrapped around me and his lips sealed the distance between us, I knew at that moment that I would walk through fire to have everything I have now.
