Chapter 4
I stood frozen, the words I wanted to say stuck in my throat, unable to leave my mouth.
Celeste collapsed into Sebastian’s arms, crying uncontrollably.
“Alpha, I only brought Dorian here to meet his future mother, I never expected her to call my child a bastard and say he didn’t deserve to compete with her son for the Alpha position!”
“I never intended for my child to compete for the Alpha position! If Marigold can’t accept him, then I’ll take him away right now!”
Sebastian’s face turned cold as he grabbed me by the collar and, without hesitation, slapped me across the face.
“Marigold, since I’ve adopted Dorian, he’s my child. Whether you accept him or not, you must treat him well!TM
A covered my face, my eyes blurry with tears, unable to explain myself before Jasper suddenly lunged at Dorian, grappling with him.
He cried out continuously, “Don’t! Don’t bully Mommy, bad guy!”
Sebastian’s expression darkened as he raised his foot and kicked Jasper aside.
I screamed and rushed toward him, but I was too late.
Jasper’s head slammed into the comer of the table,
e, blood gushing instantly.
Shaking. I held him, trying to cover the wound, but the blood kept flowing, more and more.
I looked up helplessly, tears streaming down my face, and begged Sebastian, “Please, save our Jasper!” Sebastian tried to step forward to pick up Jasper, but Celeste screamed and grabbed his hand.
“Alpha, Dorian’s face is bleeding! What if he gets disfigured?”
Sebastian turned, noticing a faint scratch on Celeste’s son’s face.
He hesitated, then chose to pick up Dorian, walking quickly toward the door.
A sharp pain shot through my heart, and my wolf howled in sorrow Inside me
I forced myself to follow them, stumbling with each stop.
Just before we reached the ambulance, Sebastian held out his hand to stop me.
A flash of guilt passed through his eyes, but his tone was unusually firm.
“Marigold, Jasper’s brain was already injured. Even with the bleeding, it’s not as serious as it seems.”
“But Jasper already overdosed on wolfsbane. He can’t heal himself! He’ll bleed out at this rate!
1 hoped he would come to his senses, but Ise ignored my words, shoving me aside as he continued.
“Dorian’s different. He will become the pack’s heir. If he gets disfigured or injured, it will affect the whole pack.”
“He’s a werewoll! He can heal immediately from any serious injury!” I retorted, desperately hoping he would care about our child.
“Shut up!” he yelled, losing his patience. But realizing the outburst would draw attention, he lowered his voice and said again, “Just wait, another ambulance will be here soon.”
Before I could respond, he escorted Celeste and Dorlan to the ambulance and drove all.
Despair and helplessness almost made me collapse, but thankfully, one of the guests was a doctor from another pack. They were able to examine Jasper and stop the bleeding in time.
Once Jasper was stable, I changed our train tickets and, with him in my arms, made my way to the station.
On the train, I made one last call to Sebastian, hoping to say goodbye
As soon as the call connected, I heard his furious shour
Marigold,
you done yet? I told you, another ambulance will be here soon!TM
paused for a moment, then lightly laughed and said, “I just wanted to tell you that Jasper’s fine now. You must be busy now, we won’t bother you

After hanging up, I sent the bond–breaking deal to Sebastian, then threw my phone away.
I took off my earring and twisted it, revealing the silver needle hidden inside.
I pricked my finger with it, and blood immediately began to flow.

With my bleeding finger, I pressed it to my mark and muttered, “1, Marigold Calloway, Luna of the Blue Moon Pack, reject St of the Blue Moon Pack, to be my mate.”
A tearing pain ripped through my neck, and the moon mark, once a symbol of fate bond, turned into a ghastly red scar. In that moment, I knew I had succeeded.
Standing outside the operating room, an intense burning pain shot through my neck, as if claws ripping through flesh. The pain sent me staggering against the wall, knees buckling until I nearly collapsed,
As the pain slightly subsided, an emptiness took over my heart, as though my soul had been ripped away.
My wolf howled frantically, mourning inside me.
“This is the reaction of severing the mate bond!” my wolf howled in agony.
“I can’t feel her anymore!” My wolf’s voice was filled with both anger and terror, “Our mate…she’s gone!”
I instinctively wanted to deny it, but at that moment, a sound echoed in my mind. It was the train whistle from the phone call, just before Marigold hung up

“She’s at the train station?” 1 mumbled, disbelief lacing my voice. “She’s trying to escape?!”
Without hesitation, I–charged toward the door, only to be blocked by Celeste.
‘Are you insane? Dorian’s still in surgery!”
“Move!” I roared, pushing her aside like a mad wolf, rushing straight for the train station.
When I arrived at the train station, I could no longer feel Marigold’s presence. I could only follow the fading traces of her scent.
In the noisy, chaotic crowd, I finally caught a hint of her scent, mingled with blood and finality.
I ran toward a train that was about to depart, the scent growing stronger, until I stopped in front of a door.
She stood there, her back to me
