Chapter 5
“Going somewhere?”
A familiar voice sounded behind me, and I felt as if I had plunged into an icy abyss. My whole body trembled as a chilling cold crept up my spine and reached the top of my head.
Slowly, I turned and faced the man who was at once achingly familiar, and a complete stranger.
“Sebastian?” I whispered in disbelief.
How could he possibly be here?
He stared at the blood dripping from my fingertips, his eyes story with rage.
“What’s that in your hand?”
His voice was low and dangerous, filled with barely contained fury.
“Did you sever our mate bond?”
I nodded. “Yes.”
The train’s whistle sounded again, and I knew the moment had arrived.
“I rejected you. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other.”
“How dare you?!”
He roared in fury, lunging toward the train doors, but they slammed shut in front of him, trapping him outside.
“Marigold”
He screamed, his voice frantic with a beast–like panic.
I backed away, dragging Jasper to another door, keeping my eyes fixed on Sebastian’s direction, terrified he might catch up and drag me back to that bellish cage
Sebastian’s POV
I ran like a madman along the side of the train, desperate to stop this train that took her away from my world.
*Sebastian! Stop chasing her!” Celeste’s voice rang out from behind me. “She’s not worth this!”
I didn’t listen. Even if it was a dead end, I wouldn’t stop.
Just one more step, and I’d grab that door, take my mate and our child back
I reached out
And then, everything went black
When I opened my eyes again, I was lying in a hospital bed.

“Where are Marigold and Jasper? Did you manage to stop them?!” Damian’s face

“Alpha, she didn’t get on the ambulance. She sent you a bond–breaking deal instead, saying she knew everything that she severed all ties with the pack and that you should never contact her or Jasper qualu
“After that, tho went to the train station ”
I felt as if my whole body had been ripped apart, frozen in place like stone, struggling to breathe.
I grabbed the phone he handed me, barely glancing at it before I almost collapsed in despair.
The bond breaking deal was written by Marigold in an eerily calin tone
She required nothing

Her only request was that I never interfere with her or Jasper’s lives again.
My body shook, anger overwhelming my rational mind.
I grabbed Damian by the collar like a crazed man and roared: “Where is she?! Where did she go?”
Damian trembled, managed to speak in a shaky voice.
She changed her identity at the train station no one knows where she wen…”
I collapsed to the ground, my eyes bloodshot as I suured to myself: “It’s impossible…She was just angry with me for acting rashly. She wouldn’t really leave. She’s my lana, my one and only mate.”
“She’s just punishing me. Just storming off like she always does. If I beg hard enough–if I grovel properly–she’ll come back… right?”
Damian!” I suddenly shot up, my roar almost shattering the celling.
“Now! Find out where Marigold is immediately! She could leave today, but she couldn’t disappear forever!”
My fury surged, my Alpha aura flaring up, filling the room with an oppressive air, causing the walls to vibrate with my rage.
Damian shrank back into the corner, visibly terrified, having never seen me so uncontrollable.
The noise outside the room drew the attention of Celeste and her son, Dorian
She stepped out of the hospital room, but the sight of my fury–laced tom jolted her into instant clarity, her body tensing with wary hesitation. Then she approached me, her face painted with saccharine renderness.
“Sebastian, don’t be like this…” She tugged at my sleeve, speaking in a soft, coaxing tone. “If Marigold says she doesn’t want to be disturbed anymore, you should respect her choice.”
“Besides, she severed the mate bond and gave up the Luna position. Isn’t that’s relief for you?”
“There won’t be anyone disrupting us anymore.
Before she could finish, I raised my hand and slapped her hard across the face.
The sound was sharp and jarring.
Celeste held her cheek, wide–eyed in shock, completely unprepared for me to strike her.
Are you insane?! What did I say wrong? She wanted to leave! Why are you hitting me?!”
“Besides, Jasper’s an idiot now, so what use is she anymore?”
We’ve put up with her for so long, and now she’s finally leaving. Don’t you think you should give us a place here?”
Her voice cracked as she screamed, but I didn’t hear a word.
I raised my hand and grabbed her by the neck, squeezing tightly, enough
‘Say one more word of nonsense, and I dare you to see what happens.”
My voice was so low and tierce, Ille a guttural growl.
“Remember, the pack only have one Luma, that is Marigold.”

Celeste’s face tumed purple from lack of air, but she continued to struggle, to no avail.
At that moment, Dorian ran over and clung to my leg, crying out
“Let go of my mom! Don’t hurt her!”
