Chapter 100 Ellis Needs a Favor
After confirming Ellie’s identity with Carly, the security personnel immediately let her through.
At the same time, Carly came out to greet her.
Seeing Ellis looking a bit disheveled, Carly asked, “What happened to you?”
“Twent to Hudson Group to find Easton, and just happened to run into Victoria. I slapped her, Ellis shrugged, not feeling like she’d done anything wrong, just regretting not doing it sooner.

“Talready slapped her!” Ellis suddenly felt exhausted, her body leaning sideways as she rested her head on Carly’s shoulder to case her fatigue. I came here today to talk to Mr. Scott
“You reckless child!” Carly pushed Ellis’s head away in disgust. “You didn’t get Easton’s money or get anywhere with him, but you’ve picked up a heap of trouble. You’re something else! And you want to talk to my dad? Do you think he’ll see you just because you want to? He hasn’t even seen me in the past few days.”
“Ms. Carly, tell Mr. Scott that I’m divorcing Easton. He doesn’t agree, but he’ll definitely see me.”
“Please.” Ellis lifted her head, putting her hands together in a pleading gesture, her eyes full of desperation. “I can’t stand it for another minute. I’m still married to Easton!”
“So, you want to use my dad to get the divorce settled?” Carly grabbed Ellis’s hands, pressing them down to stop her from acting pitiful.
“Yes,” Ellis sighed lightly. “Easton ruined my job, and now my bank account is frozen.”
On the way here, she’d already decided that the only way to solve this was for Scott to intervene. If Scott didn’t step in, she’d shamelessly stay at the manor until the divorce was finalized.
After all, living at the manor meant she didn’t have to pay for food and drink, and right now, she could hardly be considered financially stable.
Carly sized Ellis up from head to toe, then sighed as if resigned to her fate. “You could have liked anyone, but you
had to like Easton. Now look where you are.”
Compared to what she gained as Easton’s mother–in–law, after personally experiencing Easton’s tactics, she longed for the past. Whether I had a lot or a little money, what mattered most was what I actually had in hand.

From a distance, Scott noticed the changing expressions on his daughter’s face. When she stood in front of him, he spoke before she could, “I don’t have any money. The Hudson family is under Easton’s control now. If you need something, ask him.
Just because a father divided his wealth among his children didn’t mean he had no personal fortune left. Carly had wanted to rely on him forever, but her father had put an end to that.
“Dad, Ellis is here. She wants to divorce Easton, but Easton doesn’t agree. She wants you to handle it.”
⠀ “You want to divorce Easton?” Scott didn’t believe it at first. He hadn’t forgotten that the reason Easton
married Ellis was partly due to a scheme between his daughter and daughter–in–law, with Ellis doing her fair share of work. “I told you to deal with her before, but you wouldn’t.”
“It’s definitely real!” Carly made a gesture as if swearing, then took the golf club from her father’s hand. “She’s in the main house. Do you want to go see her?”
Scott didn’t trust his daughter’s words, but he grew suspicious. “If they divorce, you don’t have any objections?”
“My opinion doesn’t matter! Dad, haven’t you seen that Easton kicked me out of the mansion, stopped sending money from the foundation, and even froze my accounts?” Carly was filled with resentment as she spoke. “How could I interfere with their affairs?”
Having lived most of her life, it was frustrating to feel so powerless now, unable to rely on Ellis for continuous financial support and instead facing hardships she’d never experienced before.
“Alright, I’ll believe you for now.” Scott took off his hat and allowed his daughter to help him toward the main house.
It didn’t take long before Carly and Scott walked in together, and Ellis greeted them with a polite smile. “Ms. Carly, Mr. Scott.”
Ellis didn’t call him “Grandpa” but used the original form of address. Scott was slightly surprised but quickly said, ‘Carly just told me a bit. Now, tell me what’s going on.”
The situation was simple, and Ellis explained it in one sentence.
At first, Scott didn’t react, staying silent.
After a while, he sized her up, as if trying to figure out whether she was being truthful. The silence stretched. on, and Ellis couldn’t help but emphasize, Tm not lying.”
