As soon as her gaze fully turned toward Carly, a handsome yet cold face entered her view. The owner of the face noticed the added presence and quickly shifted his gaze toward her.

Easton’s deep, forceful voice rang out, accompanied by an undeniable displeasure.
Simultaneously, he strode toward her.
That damn scumbag! She cursed internally, taking a few steps back.

As Carly and Scott looked on, puzzled, she tried to pull away from Easton’s grip while moving toward Carly. but his grip was strong, controlling her firmly.
After walking a bit, she exerted all her strength to stop herself from being led by Easton, and asked irritably “Shen, what are you doing?”
If Scott weren’t watching, she’d have liked to yell. “You psycho!”

Easton’s tone was not to be trifled with, subtly hinting at a lethal intent.
Ellis pondered. Wasn’t I just getting Mr. Scott to help handle this scumbag who refuses to divorce me? His presence tonight proves Mr. Scott’s efficiency–the problem is being handled immediately!
“I’ve made myself clear; I’m getting a divorce.” Her gaze shifted past Easton’s shoulder to Carly and Scott. grinding her teeth to keep herself from lashing out physically.
“Easton, let go of Ellis!” Carly’s reaction was swift as she hurried over, “Ellis owes you nothing, she just wants to divorce you.”
Carly, I respect you as my elder and as Ellis’s adopted daughter, but that doesn’t mean I’ll tolerate you meddling in our marriage! I’m doing this for Ellis…”
“Shut up!”
As the commanding words fell, Ellis finally noticed the storm brewing on Easton’s face, every crease a sign of his anger.
She couldn’t understand why wanting a divorce was treated like committing some heinous crime by Easton, dragging it out as if, were Carly and Scott not here, he might have ended her life on the spot.
“Dad.” Carly turned to her father for help. “Look at Easton; is this how you speak to your elders?”
“Carly is right; you shouldn’t speak to her like that. Scott spoke calmly, “As for the divorce, you’d better agree to it, whether you like it or not. Ellis is not suited to be your wife, nor to be the lady of the Hudson family.”
