“Get back the money we gave to Victoria’s company, and keep pressuring them until they go bankrupt,” Easton ordered.
“Yes, I’ll get on it right away.” Taylor replied.
Victoria’s company had already been cut off, and with the boss’s new orders. Taylor figured there was a better than 90 chance that Victoria wouldn’t end up as the lady boss.
Ever since she started working as Easton’s assistant, Taylor had noticed was Easton’s growing increasingly frustrated with Victoria. Any hint of affection? Not a chance the so–called “first love” had clearly lost her charm.
The call ended abruptly, and Easton had just laid into her, leaving Victoria fuming with nowhere to vent her anger. Her face went from pale to flushed as she glanced around the area. “Go ask the management where Ellis lives,” she demanded.
Since Victoria didn’t have her phone on speaker, Jess couldn’t hear what Easton had said. But judging by the look on Victoria’s face, it was obvious that it wasn’t anything good.
When Jess heard Victoria ask her to find out exactly where Ellis lived, she quickly warned. “Ms Victoria, there is surveillance “everywhere around here!”
“Do you know what Easton just said to me?” Victoria spatted bitterly, swallowing hard. “He said I’m two–faced, and whatever we had is over!”

“This is all Ellis’s fault! I’m going to find her and teach her a lesson Victoria’s eyes burned with hatred for Ellis.
Ellis was the reason she hadn’t become Mrs. Hudson the moment she got back. Instead, she ended up with what felt like some nobody’s unwanted leftovers. Worse yet, Ellis had wrecked her image in front of Easton, and now he had completely cut her off.
If Victoria tried to go after Ellis again tonight, chances where Ellis would call the cops without a second thought. They would. both end up at the station, and once the police called her parents, she’d be in for a serious scolding, or worse. Just the thought of it made Jess grab Victoria and pull her out of the neighborhood.
Jess suddenly grabbed her arm, leaving Victoria confused. “Where are you dragging me?” she asked.
“Ms. Victoria, please just let me be. If you want to stir up trouble, fine, but not in my apartment complex. If my parents find out, they’ll kill me!” Jess had made up her mind to stay out of Victoria’s mess. After all. Victoria didn’t mind embarrassing herself, but Jess sure did.
“Pathetic!” Victoria snapped, yanking her arm out of Jess’s grasp. “Easton and Ellis are divorced–she’s nothing now!”
She huffed and added, I won’t go after her today, but I’ll find the right time and a spot without any surveillance to teach her a lesson. I’ll make sure she pays for thist
She had made up her mind, instead of confronting Ellis herself, she would pay someone else to do it and make sure it happened away from any surveillance.
That way, even if Ellis reported it to the police, they wouldn’t be able to track down the person responsible and if they did, she could just pay someone to take the fall.
Jess ignored Victoria’s words, staying right where she was. She gave a small wave, almost like a farewell, and said pleadingly. “Ms. Victoria, thanks for coming to get me, but I’m not going out tonight. Have fun without me.”
Victoria realized that Jess was not only useless but also a burden. Knowing she couldn’t count on her, Victoria had no choice but to leave.
On her way to her next stop, Victoria put her money to work, starting to arrange for someone to get back at Ellis.
What Victoria did not know was that Taylor was working overtime, reviewing the financial records of Easton’s transactions with Victoria’s company. She was also coordinating with the legal team of Hudson Group to figure out how to drive Victoria’s company into bankruptcy–quickly and legally.

The moment she tapped to send the transfer, the screen suddenly switched to a voice call. She froze, momentarily stunned.
She hadn’t even pressed the voice call button.
She looked closer and realized that Easton was the one who had started the voice call
Easton’s response caught Maya completely off guard. Answering felt wrong, but ignoring it didn’t seem right either.
She grabbed her phone and walked into Ellis’s room.
“Ellis,” she asked, “Easton’s calling. Should I answer it?”
After finishing her night–time routine, Ellis sat at her vanity, gently smoothing skincare products over her face..
Hearing Maya’s words, Ellis turned her head in surprise. She glanced at the screen twice, confirming the name before asking. puzzled. “Why is he calling? What did you say to him before this”
“I didn’t say anything. His reply was just a voice call,” Maya said, equally confused about what Easton wanted to say.
“Go ahead and answer it. Put it on speaker.”
“Alright.”
Maya tapped the accept button and sat down at the vanity as well, ready to gauge Ellis’s reaction before deciding how to respond.
