Ellis understood that looking fine on the outside didn’t mean everything was okay. The one who hit him. was Easton, not her.
She wasn’t responsible, a few questions were enough.
With that thought, she quickly hung up the phone again.
Unbeknownst to her, this bit of concern made Morty’s heart bloom with joy, as if he’d tasted the sweetest honey in the world..
A strong gust of cold wind blew, causing Ellis to shiver. She put away her phone and, driven by the cold, ran towards a nearby shop.
She came in to warm up, feeling awkward about sitting without buying anything. Ellis chose a window seat and browsed the menu, planning to pick some food to eat. Since the tables in the shop were quite close to each other, she suddenly overheard two girls whispering.
“Wow, he’s so hot!”
“Could he be a celebrity or something?”
“If he were a celebrity looking like that, he’d definitely be famous. We’d see him all the time, but I don’t recognize him, so he must be just a regular guy.”
“Should we ask the girl to add us on WhatsApp? Wait, the girl sitting in our row is really pretty too!”
Ellis wasn’t trying to cavesdrop, but hearing ‘really pretty, she couldn’t help but glance at the two girls, who were pointing right at her.
Perhaps her gaze influenced them; the girls quickly stopped whispering and turned to browsing the menu and discussing what to eat, just like her.
Compliments about her looks were nothing new to Ellis, and she continued to look at the food pictures.
Unfortunately, the girls didn’t quiet down for long and started whispering again about the handsome guy, which piqued her curiosity.
She hadn’t noticed any handsome men in the shop and wondered if they were just hungry and calling any decent–looking man a ‘hottie.‘
Before she could scrutinize every male customer, a tall gure walked past her, and she caught a glimpse of the girls looking excitedly at the figure.
Sitting down made it hard to see the face of the person who just walked by.
So, she looked up, and a face with sharp, defined features came into view.

The girls ogling the handsome man were just enjoying he view, and there was nothing wrong with that.
Just then, Ellis’s stomach growled. Truly hungry, she rubbed her belly and focused on ordering her meal.
Eating distracted her from the conversation and people she’d just encountered.
After her meal. she drove back to the hotel, planning to rest for a while.
However, a hotel staff member came to her door, speaking gently, “Ms. Harper, a guest downstairs has complained that the noise from your room at night is too loud, keeping him from sleeping. Could you please keep it down?”
Ellis was puzzled. She was a quiet person, especially at right.
She frowned at the staff member, “I usually just lie in bed, and I’m here alone. What kind of noise could I possibly make? If he’s that sensitive, maybe he should see a doctor instead of making baseless accusations.
The staff member’s professional smile stiffened for a moment before offering, “Ms. Harper, how about we upgrade your room for free? Would that be okay?”
Although the staff’s initial attitude was slightly off, his solution was agreeable, especially with the offer of a better room for free. Ellis nodded in agreement,
The staff then helped her move her luggage to another room.
As she followed the staff member, checking her phone and preparing to turn into the new room, she. unexpectedly bumped into something hard.
What did I hit? Ellis quickly looked up.
It was a man–and not just any man, but the handsome guy she had seen at the beachside shop.
A girl had bumped into him without apologizing, and upon seeing him, she just stared, evaluating him. Maxwell frowned.
There was a complaint about another guest, which had upset the complained–about guest who insisted she hadn’t made any noise. To avoid escalating the situation where both guests might complain, the staff decided to offer Ellis an upgrade.
As the door to the new room opened, Maxwell and his assistant stepped out.
