Yuri averted his gaze.
“The servants have moved it to the storage room. The nearest guest room is being converted into a nursery. You can choose any guest room to stay in.”
I fell into a long silence, nodding eventually. “Alright.”
The storage room–my custom–made gown carelessly thrown on the floor, jewelry scattered in filthy corners, as though discarded like unwanted trash.
I took a deep breath, turning my gaze towards Willa, who had followed me in.
“Can’t wait, huh? Can’t even wait for me to leave?”
A flicker of discomfort crossed her face before she replaced it with an innocent expression.

“Freya, what are you talking about? Yuri had the servants clean up. I didn’t do anything.”
I sneered, pointing at the shoe prints on the dress.
“Did the servants do this too?”
“What if I did?” Willa suddenly lowered her voice, a venomous gleam flashing in her eyes before she feigned fear and stepped back.
“Freya, please… leave me alone!”
With that, she let out a loud scream, pretending to lose her balance and falling backward.
Yuri rushed in just in time to catch her.
Willa immediately clutched her stomach, sobbing.
“Yuri, I didn’t do anything… Why did Freyal push me? Thank God you came, or the

“I didn’t push her!” My throat tightened, and I instinctively protested.
Yuri’s eyes darkened, rage surging as he grabbed my neck and slammed me against the wall.
“Do you think I’d believe that? Willa would use the baby to frame you? When did you become so vicious!”
His grip was crushing, and I could barely breathe, struggling to squeeze out a few words.
“I really… didn’t…”
“Enough! I don’t want to hear your lies!” His rage turned into a twisted smile as he shoved me harshly to the floor. “Go back to Clayton’s family and live your princess life! Come back when you realize your mistake!”
I staggered to my feet, unable to believe what had just happened.

It was eleven at night, and Yuri was kicking me out?
I remembered the past, when even if I went out for a midnight walk, he would insist on coming with me.
Now, his chin was raised high, and he couldn’t even spare me a glance.
My nose suddenly felt tight with emotion.
For Willa, how many times had Yuri yelled at me today?
No matter what I said or did, everything was wrong in his eyes.
And today–today was supposed to be the day we got married.
I closed my eyes, left without even gathering my things, fleeing the suffocating place without a second glance.

The moment I returned to Clayton’s family, my phone vibrated.
It was a video from Willa.
I knew I shouldn’t open it, but my fingers. betrayed me, pressing play.
On the screen, Yuri was gently holding Willa, kissing her forehead with his eyes closed, an expression of pure enjoyment and affection.
His voice carried a hint of regret.
“Willa, if I had met you sooner, I never would’ve been with Freya. You’re so gifted in medicine, so pure and ambitious. And her? She uses Clayton’s family’s influence to do whatever she wants, not caring about anything.”
“The Farrar family has been doctors for generations. If I had married her, my reputation would’ve been ruined.”
Each word was like a poisoned needle.

precisely striking at my most vulnerable spot.
Willa, using her family’s connections in the medical field, easily became his protégé, even called his honorary sister.
This is what he meant by “gifted.”
As for me, I had given up on family resources and started from the bottom, working my way up to the position of Investment Director at Clayton Group.
Yet, in his eyes, I was just “irresponsible.”
It turned out, I had always been worthless to him.
How could he have ever truly loved me?
I put down the phone, my tears soaking the pillow.
The night passed in restless tossing and

Just before dawn, my phone rang.
“Honey, did you sleep well?”
Bruce’s voice was filled with uncontained
excitement.
“I just landed in Milan. I couldn’t sleep a wink on the ten–hour flight because I was so thrilled. I still can’t believe you really married me.”
His tone softened, his words full of warmth.
“Honey, I’ve already started missing you. Do you miss me?”
“Honey?”
The word hit me like a bucket of cold water, snapping me wide awake.
