Enthusiastic netizens uncovered that Willa’s academic performance was nowhere near good enough to be admitted as a special trainee at Lyon University of Life Sciences.
As I scrolled through the latest comments, I glanced at the man sitting across from me, leisurely sipping his wine.
“Isn’t the one spreading all the dirt about this ‘kind–hearted‘ netizen you, Bruce Pruitt?”
He casually set down his glass, unbothered.
“I’ve been chasing you for years before I got a confirmation, and now he dares call me a ‘wild man‘? I’ll remember this grudge for the rest of my life.”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
Bruce, with his gentle and handsome appearance, always had this rough edge to his speech.

No wonder when he was pursuing me in the past, I never took him seriously.
The atmosphere in the Farrar family’s living room was suffocatingly tense.
Yuri sat on the sofa, his face dark with anger, his fingers tapping incessantly on the
armrest.
Willa huddled in the corner, her head nearly bowed to her chest.
Ever since he saw that video in the mall, Yuri had desperately tried to contact Freya, but he found that all his attempts had been blocked.
He was about to go straight to the Clayton family to demand an explanation when he was called back by his parents in an
emergency.
Now, both families sat around the dining table, endlessly refreshing their phones

“Ding…”
Yuri’s phone rang.

He stared at the suspension notice on the screen, his fingers tightening unconsciously.
At nearly the same time, Willa received her expulsion notice from the school.
The elders finally lowered their phones, ready to discuss countermeasures.
Sophia forced a smile, her voice trembling:
“Maybe we should delay Yuri and Willa’s wedding for now. It wouldn’t hurt to wait until after the baby is born.”
Byron Hawke, Willa’s father, slammed his
hand down on the table.
“Bullshit! My daughter is already this far along, and you want to delay it? The wedding must happen immediately!”

Oscar Farrar massaged his temples, trying to calm the situation.
“Right now, the heat is too intense. If we go ahead with the wedding, the public’s criticism will only escalate. Both our families have reputations in the medical field, and the more we make of this, the harder it will be to manage.”
“Yuri has only been suspended; his abilities. are well known, and the hospital won’t really fire him. Once the situation calms down, he’ll be reinstated.”
Byron growled:
“My daughter’s been expelled, and the internet’s calling her a mistress. How can we not get married and clear her name?”
Sophia muttered quietly, “She was a mistress from the start…”
“What did you say?!”

Both of Willa’s parents stood up in unison, Nora Wren, her mother, reaching for a teacup on the table.
The tension between the two families was
palpable, and it seemed as though a fight might break out.
Yuri slammed his palm onto the table and shouted, “Everyone, shut up!”
The whole room fell silent, everyone stunned by his sudden outburst.
His voice was cold as ice. “First, I won’t marry Willa. Second, once the baby is born, she will go abroad to further her studies.”
The air felt frozen, and the four elders exchanged looks of shock.
Nora was the first to react, her voice sharp with disbelief. “Yuri, what do you mean by that? What are you taking my daughter for?”

Yuri closed his eyes, his tone resolute.
“I’ve made it clear to Willa a long time ago. The only person I’ll ever marry is Freya. That will never change.”
Willa, head down, tears streaming down her face, remained silent, her body trembling.
Sophia was shaking with anger, her voice rising.
“At a time like this, you’re still thinking about that woman from the Clayton family? If it weren’t for her, none of this would have happened!”
“Mom!” Yuri snapped sharply. “Freya is my fiancée. Don’t you dare insult her!”
He rubbed his temples in frustration.
“I made a mistake this time. She was just throwing a tantrum. I’ll calm her down and bring her back.”
Upon hearing this, Willa could no longer hold back. She covered her mouth and sobbed quietly.
Oscar slammed his teacup down onto the table.
“A tantrum? She destroyed both our families! And you’ve lost your job, and you’re still defending her?”
Yuri suddenly stood up, his eyes red. “Dad, I don’t care about all that… But I can’t live without Freya.”
His voice cracked, and he collapsed back onto the sofa, his body wracked with emotion.
Everyone in the room was stunned as this usually composed, cold man, now hunched over, his hands covering his face, his shoulders trembling with repressed sobs.
The Farrar family’s parents sat back on
the sofa, shaking their heads wordlessly in disbelief.
Willa, still sobbing, spoke through her tears.
“Yuri, even if Freya’s already married to someone else, you still… still don’t want me?”
Yuri froze for a moment, then turned to glare at her with venomous eyes.
“Shut up! If it weren’t for you recording that video and sending it to Freya, she would never have left me! I was drunk that day, those words were never meant to be taken seriously!”
He pointed a trembling finger at Willa.
“I was blind! I couldn’t see how devious and manipulative you really are! Get out! Get out of my sight right now!”
Willa’s eyes widened in shock, tears streaming down her face.
This man, who had once been so kind and gentle to her, now looked terrifying, his face twisted in fury.
“Yuri, you weren’t like this before..”
“Shut up!” Yuri growled, tugging at his hair in frustration. “You’re twenty–three, stop acting like a three–year–old, crying all the time!”
He suddenly remembered how Freya had rarely cried in front of him.
The one time she did, in the kitchen, he had been just as frustrated, but that had been out of care, guilt over the fact that he had made her cry.
