Chapter 114
Cleo moved so quickly that Jessica didn’t even catch a glimpse of what was happening outside the door.
Maxine set her down and let her head inside first, then stepped out herself to see what was going on
Someone had splashed red paint all over the fence outside the yard, and a dark, reddish liquid had been poured on the ground, it was impecchie
what it was.
Cleo’s face was grim as she explained everything to the police.
Maxine figured out what was going on almost instantly. She pulled out her phone, searched for Mona’s livestream account from yesterday, and sure enough, there was a brand new post.
Mona had gone online, crying about being insulted and threatened at her daughter’s house, then accused Maxine’s security guard of throwing his weight, around. With some nosy netizens egging her on, she even posted Maxine’s address in the comments.
Maxine let out a cold laugh and took screenshots as evidence. Mona’d only been here once, but still remembered the address so clearly. And those people actually managed to find their way here. It was unbelievable.
The security guard arrived with the police, and when he saw the mess at the front gate, he broke out in a cold sweat and kept apologizing to her
After checking the surveillance footage at Maxine’s door, they confirmed it was two men who did it.
Once the police had copied the footage, they asked Maxine and Cleo to come with them to give their statements.
The officer looked a bit surprised after hearing the whole story. He’d heard about the drama with Peak Entertainment these past few days, but he hadn’t
expected the person involved to be sitting right in front of he
Maxine pulled up a screenshot on her phone and showed it to the officer. “I think this account leaked my personal info, and that’s what caused all of
this.”
The screenshot made everything clear. Even now, if they searched for the account, they could still find the post, though the address had already been deleted after people started questioning it.
Family disputes were always tricky. After collecting the evidence, the officer reminded her, “She’s still your mother. We usually try to settle things like this. If you want to take it further, you can file a lawsuit in court.”
He gave Maxine a look full of sympathy.
He had a daughter too, and he couldn’t imagine a mother treating her own child like this.
Maxine nodded, thanked him, and walked out of the room.
Cleo had already been waiting outside for her, and even went out to grab some breakfast while she waited.
“I told you so,” Cleo said, rubbing her temples at the thought of the mess by the door. “I kept warning you to be careful, and now look at what’s happened to your front door.”
When they left, everyone took the garage route just so Jessica wouldn’t get freaked
out by the mess outside.
Maxine shot Cleo a look, thinking to herself that Cleo really was a jinx. Whatever she worried about always seemed to happen.
Cleo took a bite of her breakfast, then noticed/Maxine giving her that weird look. She immediately got defensive, “Hey, don’t blame n anything. If anything, this just proves I’ve got good instincts!”

Maxine let out a sigh. There was nothing she could do now. Screenshots of her address were probably in more than one person’s hands, and more trouble was definitely on the way. There was no way she could keep living there.
