Chapter 175
Maxine came out with her laptop in hand. She and Cleo inserted the USB drive into it.
Cleo opened the folder. “These are the photos and videos I took back then,” she said, “I made an extra backup just in case something went wrong Good thing I was prepared.”
Inside were some photos and a video clip. The photos showed those young socialites from the bar last night, each holding small colored packets in their hands.
Cleo clicked the video. “I was just trying to get some evidence on them yesterday when one of them suddenly said something I didn’t expect,” she explained, a hint of surprise in her voice.
Maxine stared at the video. Despite the noisy background, she could still make out the mocking voices. A skinny man sneered, “The Jenson family are just a bunch of losers. Back in the day, they acted all high and mighty over the peanuts they made, and that was just from their shady deals.
Leaning against the woman beside him, he sneered, “In the end, they just found some poor bastard surnamed Hudson to take the fall.”
“Albion Soto!” One of the more clear–headed people nearby immediately cut in to stop him.
The video ended there, but Maxine’s face darkened visibly.
Cleo gave her a worried glance. “You okay?”
Maxine shook her head. “A fraud case… someone surnamed Hudson… they must be talking about my father.”
“Do you have any other evidence?” Maxine asked urgently.
Cleo hesitated. “After that, the guy didn’t say anything else, his friends stopped him, and then he got too high and had to be helped away.”
Maxine took a deep breath, her mind reeling. “I can’t believe my family’s mess is actually connected to the Jenson family.”
Maxine thought, ‘Ivanna too… and my father as well!
Cleo said worriedly, “I think we still have to ask Urban for help. Although Gabriel is already in jail, as far as I know, the Jenson family is trying to pull strings to get him out.”
Gabriel was Raymond’s youngest son, with only an older sister. Born when his father was already advanced in years, the Jenson family would undoubtedly pull every string to get him out.
Cleo said, “The Jenson family definitely has the connections to pull this off, it’s only a matter of time.
“Gabriel was infamous in our circle for holding grudges. Once he’s out, you can bet he’ll come after us.”

Maxine frowned deeply. “We have to get to the bottom of my father’s case as soon as possible, before it’s too late.”
The next day, Maxine went to see Urban. Feeling safer with people around during the day, she returned to Cleo’s place to collect the rest of their belongings, only to be caught off guard by an unexpected figure at the door.
Sebastian’s car was parked right at the entrance, and he stood there like a sentinel, determined not to leave without seeing her. With only one exit from the complex, Maxine had no choice but to steel herself and walk over.
Sebastian happened to glance up and froze in shock when he saw her. As she turned to leave, he rushed after her. “Maxine!”
He grabbed her arm, forcing Maxine to look up reluctantly. “Sir, you’ve mistaken me for someone else,” she said flatly, “I do
ow you.”
Sebastian stared at her in stunned silence, his gaze dropping to the bandage on her hand. Through gritted teeth, he said, each word deliberate. “Liar. You are Maxine. Kathleen deceived me. I’ve already filed charges. She’s serving time now.”

Chapter 175
Maxine let out a cold, mocking laugh and yanked her hand free. She said icily, “You’ve really got the wrong person, I don’t know any of those nemate ve mentioned. If you can’t find who you’re looking for, call the police. Don’t harass me here.”
Before he could say a word, Maxine strode straight to the waiting cab by the curb.
