Sam and Paxton held their ground, unwilling to act rashly

I watched coldly as Georgina played out the scene she had orchestrated herself, but inside, I felt nothing. We all knew how it

would end

I choose Georgina,Paxton finally said, stopping all hesitation

Sam didn’t object. His silence was agreement

The kidnapper scoffed and shoved Georgina toward them. Only as Sam and Paxton shielded her protectively did they turn their

attention to me, who had been silent the whole time

Leah, wait for me.”

We’ll come back for you.”

With those words, they left, taking Georgina with them

She was still in recovery, so they had to get her to the hospital immediately. However, no one remembered that I, too, was still

recovering

I watched them leave without a second glance, and suddenly, I felt relieved. It didn’t matter who they chose. Georgina was never going to let me live anyway

When I was first placed on the operating table, I was terrified of dying. But now that it was actually happening, I wasn’t afraid anymore. After all, no one had ever truly cared for me and loved me, not my parents or the two relationships I had been in

I turned to look at the endless ocean. Would jumping be my escape

The kidnapper nudged my leg. Hey, of all people, why’d you have to piss off the Summers’ eldest daughter?”

I ignored him and slowly got to my feet. The rough rope still bound my wrists, but I no longer felt any pain

You’re pretty. How about keeping us company for a while? Maybe then we won’t have to kill you so fast.”

Chapter

It seemed fate was never kind to me

Georgina’s men didn’t let me go, and by the time they were done with me, I had no more tears left to shed

As they sat nearby, smoking, I dragged myself to the edge of the cliff. Then, without a second thought, I jumped

I was exhausted. All I wanted was a good night’s sleep

Sam and Paxton rushed Georgina to the hospital, ordering a full examination. Only when they confirmed she was unharmed did

they finally remember that I was still with the kidnappers

After settling Georgina in, Paxton grabbed his keys, ready to drive back and get me. Anxiety gnawed at his gut

Back at the cliff, he had felt something was wrong. At first, he thought it was just concern for Georgina’s condition, but now that

she was fine, that unease still hadn’t disappeared. If anything, it had only grown stronger

Seeing Paxton leaving, Sam, having reassured Georgina, followed him without hesitation. Unfortunately, by the time they

returned to the cliffside, I was gone

Find her!”

I don’t care where they ran off to. Bring her back!Paxton’s usual calm was shattered, and he slammed his fist against the car

hood as he barked orders at his assistant

Sam didn’t speak, but his brows furrowed tightly. Their eyes met, both filled with the same dread

Paxton’s assistant worked fast. Within moments, the kidnappers were dragged before them
