Wayne scoffed. “Sebastian, do you actually believe that?”
Sebastian ignored his sarcasm and pleaded, “Grandpa, please help me find her. I can’t live without her. If I lose her, I’ll die.”
Wayne shook his head. “I promised her I wouldn’t help you. Give it up. In a couple of days, you’ll meet the heiress from Celestial Group. If she likes you, marry her.”
Sebastian stood up,
and his gaze turned dark, like a venomous snake ready to strike in the night.
“My wife will only ever be Tessa. Grandpa, if you won’t help me, I’ll find her on my own.”
What followed was a frenzy. Sebastian went all in, mobilizing every contact he had, searching for me like a madman.
Before long, the entire city knew that Sebastian’s ex–wife had vanished, and he had completely lost it.
When Roxanne came to see him again, he grabbed her by the throat and said coldly, “This is all your fault! If it weren’t for you, Tess would’ve never left me!”
If his assistant hadn’t walked in just then, Roxanne might not have survived.
Every bit of this ridiculous drama was made known to me by Liam in a series of texts.
I read them all and just felt that the entire situation was absurd. If Sebastian had really loved me, why did he treat me the way he did for three whole years? And why did he only want me back after I’d given up?
Pathetic. Love that arrived too late was just sickening.
Daniel leaned over and clicked his tongue. “So, you’re thinking of going back to that guy? The one who chose to save the woman you sponsored during the earthquake, paid five million to buy your life, and then abandoned you in a car crash to rescue another woman?
“The same guy who emotionally abused you while still married, paraded his mistress around, let her wear your clothes, sleep in your bed, and even got her pregnant?
