A few days later, Mr. Henderson announced
we were starting a peer tutoring program.
Basically, top of the class helped the bottom.
Second highest with second lowest.
And so on.
“Alright, let’s get started.”
“Sarah, you’re first.”
“Who’s dead last? Dead last?”
A kid in the front row almost jumped out of
his seat, hand halfway up.
Then someone in the back stood, his voice
cool.
“Me.”
The first kid whirled around. “Ethan, quit
messing around. You got two points more
than me on the last test.”
“Mr. Henderson, I’m actually in last place.”
“Class Prez, help a brother out!”
