Chapter 13
The sharp shrapnel hit the man’s back, leaving bloody marks.
The man did not move at all. He just gritted his teeth and groaned, and whispered, “It’s dangerous here, follow me.”
Joey was forcibly taken back to the tent by the man.
It was not until then that Joey discovered that the man’s body was covered in blood and the wounds caused by shrapnel were so deep that the bones were visible.
She quickly pressed the man down on the chair: “Don’t move, I’ll treat your wound.”
The man did not refuse.
Joey carefully cut open the man’s clothes and used tweezers to gently remove the shrapnel embedded in his flesh, concentrating on every
move.
After Joey bandaged his wounds, he discovered that he was wearing a strange black mask on his face.
“Your face…”
“I got burned and didn’t want to scare anyone.”
Joey pursed his lips.
Just as she was about to thank him for what happened just now, Cathy suddenly appeared out of nowhere and excitedly pulled her aside.
