“Chloe, is that all you can say? You haven’t

said anything new. Try something original.
And why are you even here? You know I hate

you.”
Each word made her face change. She’d
never faced such humiliation. She glared at
me and ran to Ryan, tears welling in her eyes.
“Brother–in–law, look what my sister said!”
Before Ryan could speak, I scoffed.
“Knowing he’s your brother–in–law, don’t you
have any shame? Clinging to him like this?” Ryan quickly pulled away from Chloe. “Honey, don’t misunderstand. Chloe and I
have nothing. She’s like a sister to me.”
Chloe’s hatred intensified. I smirked, adding
fuel to the fire.
“She may be like a sister to you, but she
doesn’t see you as a brother–in–law, does
she? Do you really consider her a sister?” Ryan froze, fear in his eyes. I didn’t intend to do this so soon, but I’d had enough. And I’d

lost the baby. There was no reason to
continue this charade.
“Ryan, we…
“Honey, rest. We can talk at home!”
He yelled, interrupting me. He stood at my
bedside, pleading, ignoring Chloe. I smirked
at Chloe.
She was ignored, so she used our parents,
her usual tactic.
I didn’t stop her. Let them come. My plan was
ready.
Her parents were just outside the door when
she ran to her mother, sobbing. They stared
at me.
“Samantha, you just lost some blood, and
you’re in the hospital? Get out of here, go
home and make soup for your sister.
وو
Chloe whispered to her mother, who turned
even angrier.
“Apologize to Chloel Why did you
I laughed. I was done with them.
“Why should I apologize? Did I say anything
wrong? She does things, and I can’t speak
up?”
“If you know I hate her, why does she show
up?”
“Ryan is still my husband, until we divorce.
She shouldn’t be clinging to him!”
“If you favor Chloe, then disown me. I know
you all hate me. Let’s just end this.”
Everyone was stunned. My father lunged at
- me.
“If you hit me, I’ll call the police for domestic
abuse. It’s easy to get a medical report here.”
He froze. My mother started yelling.
“How could I have such a selfish, cruel
daughter? You want to cut ties? Do you think
you could’ve survived without us?”
I remembered starving, meals dependent on
my parents‘ moods and Chloe’s whims. If it
<
weren’t for neighbors, I wouldn’t have
survived.
Ryan interrupted my thoughts.
“Honey, we’re family. Just apologize, and it’ll
be over.”
I looked at him. He never stood by me. From
forcing me to donate blood to everyone
ganging up on me.
Chloe, arrogant, stood before me.
“Apologize, or my parents and brother–in–law
won’t help you!”
I smiled, tilting my head.
“You just want my things, right? You like
Ryan. I can divorce him. But I want a
statement declaring our blood ties severed.”
“I want nothing to do with your family.”
Silence. Ryan spoke first, stunned. “Honey… you want a divorce?”
Chloe hesitated, but I cut her off.
“This is your only chance. Take it.”
く
She wouldn’t refuse. Her parents wouldn’t
refuse her.
When I received the statement, the light in
Ryan’s eyes shattered. He tried to grab my
hand.
“Honey… you don’t want a divorce, do you? I won’t let you.”
Chloe comforted him.
“My sister must have her reasons. Don’t
bother her!”
She urged me.
“You have the statement. Just do it!”
I produced the divorce papers and signed.
Ryan lunged to tear them up. I stopped him. “If you tear this up, I’ll file for divorce. Let’s
see who’s embarrassed!”
His hand froze. He dropped it.
“Honey…
“”
“Mr. Song, please call me by my name.”
He clenched his jaw, seeing my resolve.
<
“Samantha, I won’t divorce you.”
“You don’t get a say!”
I handed the divorce papers to Chloe and
dismissed them.
“Leave. I need rest.”
I heard Ryan arguing with Chloe.
“Why would I marry you? If it weren’t for you,
Samantha wouldn’t have divorced me! I loved
Samantha, not you!”
I laughed. His love was worthless.
After my confinement, I contacted my old
dance teacher to rejoin the competition.
“But the contestants are already set. Your
spot was given to your sister.”
“Is there any way?”
