I found it amusing.
Balloons and streamers decorated the space.
A red carpet led to the entrance.
A Bluetooth speaker played “Marry You
Today.”
Most striking was the banner facing the door:
“Sarah, Marry Me!”
Michael’s family and friends crowded the
room, all staring intensely at them.
Sarah tightened her grip on the baby, who
cried.
Michael’s father smiled,
“Sarah, you and Michael were childhood
sweethearts, and Gray is just… beneath you.
The baby’s here, shouldn’t you marry
Michael?”
Michael knelt, producing a diamond ring,
“Sarah, I know I don’t have long to live, but I
want to give our child a complete family. I
want him to know he was born into love, not
as a bastard!”
“Marry me. I want to protect you and the
baby until the end.”
Everyone cheered,
“Say yes! Marry him!”

My heart ached.
This day had finally arrived.
Sarah’s face darkened, tossing the ring aside,
“Michael, are you crazy?”
She handed the baby to Michael’s parents
and stormed off.
The room was silent.
Michael’s face paled, chasing after her.
He grabbed her arm, his eyes bloodshot,
“Why not marry me? Sarah, I rejected you.
because of pride. You were with Gray to
make me jealous! What’s going on?”
Sarah shrugged him off, her gaze unwavering,
“Gray will be furious. He’s jealous, petty, and
stubborn.”
“He’s already angry about the IVF. If he finds
out I agreed to your proposal, he’ll never
forgive me!”
I was surprised.
Michael gritted his teeth and took a deep
pitali.
He clutched his chest and struggled to speak, “But, Sarah, what if it’s my dying wish? I
don’t have much time, I just want to have a wedding. You can be with Gray after I die, I won’t keep you long!”
Sarah struggled, wanting to comfort Michael.
Just as her hand touched his chest, she snapped out of it.
“I’m sorry, Michael. Even if it’s your dying wish, I can’t.”
“I know you’re my benefactor, but I’ve already
given you a child. Please don’t overstep.”
She turned and left.
On the way home, she stared at the
unanswered message from the previous night. Sarah impatiently questioned her assistant, “Are you sure Gray’s phone works? Why isn’t he answering?”
The assistant continued to lie,
“He’s fine on the island He’s just igne in
“He’s fine on the island. He’s just ignoring
you.”
Sarah was furious,
“Useless! Book me a flight, now!”
The assistant panicked,
“But you’re still postpartum… should we tell
Mr. Michael?”
Sarah looked at him coldly,
“What does he have to do with it? Who’s your boss?”
Sarah soon boarded a plane.
When she arrived at the island, my bones
were still exposed on the beach, my clothes tattered by the wind.
Sarah walked towards the cabin.
A crack.
She carelessly crushed my leg bone.
Something glinted.
She stared, disbelief in her eyes.
She saw the silver men’s wedding band on my
く
skeletal ring finger.
