Shane didn’t seem interested in what
Grandma said.
Especially after Grandma said I went out, the
sneer in his eyes deepened.
He was mocking me deep down.
Thankfully, he was still somewhat decent and
didn’t say anything harsh, instead walking
towards my room.
He was already inside; I couldn’t stop him, so
I floated beside him to see what he’d do.
The moment he turned the doorknob, a pink
room came into view.
Grandma had carefully prepared this for me.
Grandma was crafty; even the pink curtains
<
were sewn by her.
I loved it here; even after death, I would float
around and rest here.
Unfortunately, spirits don’t need sleep or feel
tired.
After opening the door, Shane walked inside,
his eyes falling on the table, on the photo of
him and me.
A flash of surprise in his eyes, quickly
replaced by sarcasm.
“Didn’t you get a new boyfriend? What are
you keeping this photo for? To reminisce
about how you tricked me?”
“Holly, the biggest regret of my life is… loving
you!”
Then, he violently tore open the photo album,
took out the pictures, and ripped them to
shreds.
He still seemed unsatisfied, throwing them
angrily on the table.
I pouted, he was the one who betrayed me
first; what was he so angry about now?
Grandma stood at the doorway with juice,
stunned, asking, “Shane, what are you
doing?”
Angry, Grandma’s steps became brisk. She
angrily put the juice on the counter.
Seeing Shane tearing up the photo of us, she
immediately argued:
“Shane, you were her boyfriend, how could
you do this?”
