Chapter 45
Giselle glanced at Emma’s phone.
The woman in the live stream had on elaborate makeup, and there was a huge screen behind her that had a few sentences on it.
“…love can conquer all difficulties. If you truly love your boyfriend, you should choose him without wavering,” the woman was
saying.
With the support and management of Sharkwise, there were already more than one million people online in Charlotte’s live
stream.
The effects of the virtual gifts being sent kept flashing across the stream. Giselle didn’t feel much emotion, but she moved slightly when she heard the voice of the person speaking.
Wasn’t that the young lady who had been first on the line during her livestream yesterday? Why had she gone over to Charlotte’s?
“Ms. Grant, you’re the one who truly understands me. You’re so much better than that hideous woman I was on the line with
yesterday, and I spent 188 dollars on her! Forget it. I’ll just think of it as charity.”
Giselle was rendered speechless. She hadn’t expected that young lady to be so two–faced. She laughed out of sheer anger.
Emma didn’t know about what had happened and thought that Giselle was merely disgusted by Charlotte’s actions.
She comforted her at once. “Gigi, she’s just doing whatever you do. She won’t be able to stay smug for long, Charlotte’s perfectly happy to be the mistress in someone else’s relationship. How can someone with her values be a relationship advice livestreamer? What a joke.”
Giselle’s E
‘s gaze swept over the comments. They were all complimenting Charlotte’s looks and her abilities, and it was obvious that she had paid for people to do it.
Charlotte was always ambitious. She wanted to do everything, but she never succeeded in doing anything.
Everything she did relied on spending huge amounts of money to make things look good.
She had clearly found people who would fall for it, too.
Ten Grand Gifts appeared consecutively, which put her right at the top of the live rankings.
Giselle didn’t care. However, a familiar profile photo caught her eye, and she paused for a moment.
It was an adorable–looking, cartoon–like profile photo. It was a drawing that she had done in high school and given to Jonathan.
Memories of what Jonathan had once said to her assailed Giselle at once.
“Giselle, did you draw me? It’s pretty good. Send me the original, and I’ll use it as my profile photo.”
“Giselle, you should use the same thing. That way, they’ll all know you’re my girlfriend.”
Love had flamed and blossomed in the heat of summer, but it had also died that summer.

Giselle’s nails dug into her palms, and her eyelashes fluttered. When she opened her eyes again, she had regained her composure.
“Ms. Grant, should I go home and steal my ID from my parents so that I can get married to my boyfriend?” the young lady asked.
Charlotte suppressed her delight and coughed as she said, “I don’t think you’ll need to steal it. Can’t you just do something to make sure that there’s no turning back with your boyfriend? The happiest marriages are ones which are blessed by the parents of both parties.”
She continued, “Your boyfriend has potential. Although he doesn’t have any money right now, it doesn’t mean he won’t have money in the future. Good luck, young lady. Keep it up, I believe in you.”
It was a wild statement to make and would render any sensible person speechless.
Apart from the bots in the comment section, there were also a few sensible people.
Giselle caught sight of a few comments that were going against Charlotte, but when she looked again, the commenters had been blocked and removed from the live stream.
Emma looked as if she had been forced to swallow a bug. “Charlotte really has no principles. How could she try and persuade someone to get pregnant before marriage just to trap someone into doing it?
“I finally know why there are so many divorce lawsuits now. They’re all from people who believed in nonsensical advice and got married because they got pregnant!”
Emma looked furious.
Giselle stopped her when she saw that Emma was about to type something. She shook her head. “Let’s just respect the fact that everyone has their own destiny. Charlotte will reap what she sows sooner or later.”
She had persuaded the young lady to get pregnant before marriage. If the lady’s parents found out that she had put the idea into her head, things would get interesting.
Giselle was actually hoping to see what would happen.
After that, Emma went into the operating theater and was pushed out in less than two hours.
