Chapter 48
After listening to what Julia had said, Giselle was no longer sure. She needed ample time to digest this complicated Information.
The moment she got home, Hector called. “Ms. Stone, do you have time tonight? I’d like to tell you something face–to–face.”
Giselle paused for a moment before saying, “Send me the time and address.”
Great. Now, another problem had appeared.
Should she tell Hector that he was a replacement for someone else? If so, there was no reason that he had to continue trying to
appease Julia.
It would be better for them to part amicably. After all, they hadn’t made things
sofficial.
Hector had reserved a five–star restaurant in Seaworth City for 7:00 pm, and he asked if Chester would like to come along.
Chester was standing by the window, looking tall and lean. He ended his call and looked up lazily at Hector. “If I go with you, it
will look too obvious.”
Hector raised an eyebrow. “How is it obvious? It’s very reasonable for two good friends to have dinner together.”
He couldn’t understand what Chester was thinking. He was sacrificing himself to create an opportunity for his good friend to
court Giselle.
Chester was clearly not appreciative of his efforts.
Chester didn’t explain himself. “I happen to be meeting a client there.”
He had decided to return to expand his career. Once the research abroad was done, he would move everything back home.
He hadn’t used any of the Fordhams‘ resources, either. All his accomplishments were on his own merit, and it was very
impressive.
Hector clicked his tongue. “Chet, do you think I’m going to believe you? Anyway, Giselle will be coming to the restaurant tonight.
You’ve got to grab the opportunity yourself.”
Chester inclined his head slightly. “Thanks”
“We’re good friends. You don’t have to thank me.” Hector sat on the couch and thought of something else.
“I heard Tony saying yesterday that Charlotte is now a relationship advice livestreamer on Sharkwise. What is she playing at? She
can’t possibly know that Giselle is doing it too, right?”
Giselle’s identity was top secret and was guarded heavily by the platform. She never showed her face during her live stream,
either. Charlotte shouldn’t be able to know about it.

There was an impassive expression on Chester’s face, and a flash of scorn in his eyes. “She’s an absolute clown. She can’t
compare to Gigi at all.”
What did it matter if Charlotte was a wealthy heiress? She was still that insecure ugly duckling who got jealous easily.
Giselle was different. As long as she wanted to, she could become the most elegant woman in Seaworth City,
That night, Giselle arrived right on time.
Hector had changed into casual clothes. He looked distinguished, with a slightly rakish air. No one would ever be able to tell by
looking at him that he was a genius surgeon.
When they had both arrived, the waiter began to serve the food..
Hector had ordered a lot of food, and Giselle was surprised to find that all the food he had ordered was her favorite.
It was probably a coincidence.
Giselle didn’t think too much of it. The two of them decided to eat before getting down to business.
Hector was rather distracted while he ate. When Giselle finally put down her cutlery, he immediately blurted out everything he
had prepared. “Gisel- I mean, Ms. Stone, I know who the old flame you were talking about last time is.”
Hector had almost had a slip of the mouth, but he had corrected himself just in time.
Giselle asked, “Is it your first love?”
It was Hector’s turn to be surprised. He couldn’t help laughing. “It’s really as if you can read minds, Ms. Stone. However, can I
really call her my first love if we never dated?”
Giselle gestured for him to keep talking.
Hector continued, “I’m not embarrassed to tell you this, Ms. Stone. I never managed to get together with my first love, so I found
replacement.”
