Chapter 50
Giselle said nothing and allowed Chester to keep holding her around the waist.
Chester’s lips curved upward at her compliance, and the last vestige of his annoyance vanished.
“That’s impossible! Chester, you’re lying to me, aren’t you? You can’t have a girlfriend!” the drunk woman suddenly began
screaming.
She broke down completely and lunged toward Giselle. Her teeth bared in a grimace as she reached out to claw at her.
Chester’s eyes narrowed, and he pulled Giselle aside to dodge the attack. There was a flash of revulsion in his eyes.
He shielded Giselle, and his authoritative air made the other woman sober up almost instantly.
Jasmine Sinclair’s hand froze in midair, and she turned as pale as a sheet as terror washed over her momentarily.
What had she done?
She had tried to hit Chester’s girlfriend right in front of him!
No, that wasn’t right! She had paid money to find out, and there had been no mention of Chester having a girlfriend!
“Chester, you’re lying to me, aren’t you? You’re clearly single!” Love conquered her fear, and Jasmine looked hopefully at him. She clearly wanted him to say that he didn’t have a girlfriend.
There was an icy look in Chester’s eyes as he chuckled softly. “Are we close? Why would I lie to you?”
He had wanted to act like a gentleman in front of Giselle, but since Jasmine had actually tried to attack her, he felt that there was
no longer any need to do so.
Jasmine turned bright red in embarrassment. She bit her lower lip definitely. “B–But I like you.”
She had been in love with Chester for a very, very long time. They were in the same circle of friends, and she had been unable to resist watching him secretly in the shadows.
When she found out that Chester was coming back to the country, she had been unable to contain her excitement.
She had finally managed to pay money to track his movements so that she could confess to him and win him over.
She had never expected an obstacle to pop up all of a sudden.
“So?” The scorn in his voice trampled Jasmine’s pride completely. Tears swam in her eyes, and she turned and fled the scene in
utter humiliation.
After a few seconds of silence, Chester reluctantly pulled his arm away. He felt as if he could still feel Giselle’s warmth on the palm of his hand.
“Those were special circumstances,” he said. “I apologize if I’ve offended you, Ms. Stone.”

He was very sincere, which made it impossible for Giselle to get angry. She felt as if her mind was in turmoil, and she mumbled,
“It’s okay.”
She felt so awkward that she immediately found a reason to escape. “Mr. Fordham, I have an appointment with someone
“Yes, I have an appointment with a client as well,” he said, swiftly explaining why he was there.
What had happened was a coincidence. It wasn’t planned.
Giselle returned to the private dining room.
When Hector saw that she was blushing, he laughed inwardly, although he pretended not to know what had happened.
“Ms. Stone, is it very hot outside?” he asked purposefully.
Giselle forced herself to pretend to be calm and assented. “A little.”
Hector didn’t call her out on it, and the subject returned to him and Julia.
“…anyway, my advice is to sit down and have a good chat. Don’t propose yet,” Giselle finished.
Julia wanted to break up with Hector without making herself feel bad. Meanwhile, Hector wanted to appease Julia and propose to
her so that they could be together,
If the two of them were honest with each other, and if neither of them could accept that they had both been a replacement for
someone else, then breaking up would be inevitable.
Hector looked conflicted. “What if the conversation doesn’t go well?”
Giselle calmly took a sip of water. “That depends on what you can accept.”
Hector was confused.
After they had finished their discussions and were about to leave, he sent a message to Chester.
The timing was perfect, and all three of them met in the parking lot.
Chester tilted his head slightly. “What a
coincidence.”
