Chapter 53
Giselle quickly changed her clothes and hurried to the police station. As she approached, a loud commotion echoed from within, capturing her attention before she even entered.
“What did you do to my daughter? You persuaded her to run away with that man. Why would you want to harm her?” A loud cry of
grief followed.
Charlotte felt dizzy and looked upset. She retorted, “What does it have to do with me? She asked for my advice, and I gave her
reasonable suggestions. How was I supposed to know she would make such foolish choices?”
The police on duty quickly stepped in to separate the two before a fight broke out.
Charlotte entered the interrogation room, closely followed by Giselle.
A female police officer introduced herself and provided a brief overview of the s
situation to Gis
Giselle. “Ms. Stone, a woman reported
that her daughter has been missing for three days without any contact. We’ve checked her social accounts and found a private message sent to you before she disappeared.”
The policewoman paused as the crying woman rushed at Giselle. The policewoman quickly pulled her back.
Despite this, Giselle’s hand was still scratched and bleeding. She frowned, and her expression turned cold.
“You heartless livestreamer! You killed my 19–year–old daughter! If anything happens to Yves, I won’t be able to go on.” The
woman, dressed in luxury brands, looked haggard with red, swollen eyes. She appeared to be around 50 years old.
The two police officers forcefully escorted the woman to the lounge. As they did, the lobby fell into silence.
The policewoman apologetically handed Giselle a few cotton swabs and disinfectant. “I’m sorry.”
Giselle replied nonchalantly, “No worries.”
Even a calm person could get irritated when being injured without cause, She played her edited video, showing she had no intention of encouraging the girl to run away. “Does this prove my innocence?”
The policewoman appeared stressed. “Ms. Stone, I need to speak with Captain Lane. Can you please sit and wait for a moment?”
Giselle never intended to complicate matters for her, as it was simply part of her job. “Alright.”
As she waited, Giselle scrolled through the video’s comments and paused at one that caught her attention. It read, “These conditions seem strangely familiar. Madam, if you see my message, could you respond? I might recognize this man.”
Giselle privately messaged the commenter, and immediately afterward, another man entered the police station.
“Where’s Lottie?” the man asked, his voice deep and urgent

Back then in the Grant family, Harold and Linda treated her cruelly, often punishing her for minor issues. When she was hungry, Sebastian would secretly feed her, being one of the few sources of kindness in her life.
Yet, when Charlotte returned, their relationship changed. Everyone labeled her a thief, claiming she had taken over Charlotte’s life. Though Sebastian remained silent about his thoughts, Giselle could sense that he believed the same.
Giselle tried to calm herself while suppressing her emotions. Sebastian didn’t notice her as he was taken by another officer to see
Charlotte.
Twenty minutes later, Charlotte emerged from the interrogation room. She wiped her tears in distress. “Sebastian, please don’t tell Mom and Dad about this. I don’t want them to worry.”
The moment the police reached out to her, she immediately messaged Sebastian, who had just returned from his studies abroad. He wasted no time and rushed over as soon as he landed.
